I used the Lexol Leather Cleaning Wipes, but its still has some streaks and my leather is now greasy. what can i do?

Hi Mike,

:welcome to the forum!

I had that problem once, used some cheap leather wipes and it went all horrible. I used AutoGlym Interior Shampoo and just ran over the seats with a sponge, dried it off with a MF towel and applied some Meg's leather cleaner and conditioner.

You maybe able to use just soapy water to remove it, or possibly just water. Don't soak the leather, just run over it with the sponge and dry until the stuff you applied disappears.

I'm sure there are other ways too, that was just the method I used.

Just a thought, but was it Cleaner & Conditioner or just conditioner. If it was just conditioner, try getting some leather cleaner - then apply the conditioner. Might not have taken properly, hence the streaks etc.

He used only the conditioner, but did not apply it appropriately, hence the spots and streaks. I used the cleaner, but the cleaner is not very effective, some streaks still show, and it is greasy now. Thank you for the welcome by the way.

I think in that case you may need to wash the product off with something. You could either try using water, or wait for some others to chime in on this - I'm sure there are other ways to do it...

Looks like the conditioner wasn't applied evenly. It also looks like the Lexol was sprayed directly onto the leather. I would reclean it and try again. Recently I purchased two microfiber applicators from Advance Auto Parts and used them to apply Lexol. The applicators are basicly an oblong sponge about 5in. long 3in. wide 2in. thick wrapped in micro fiber. One was blue the other was yellow. No matter the applicator you use try to work in the conditioner evenly and always apply it directly to your applicator not the vinyl or leather. Let us know how it goes. Good luck.

First of all, most of the trim around the leather is typically vinyl (door pannels, front edge of seats etc). The door panels you pictured, I will bet, most of that is NOT leather. Also, as mentioned it appears you sprayed the conditioner directly on the material. I would start with a mild cleaner, 6:1 water to woolite or maybe one of the vinyl cleaners. Then, use the leather conditioner on JUST the leather parts. Use a good vinyl dressing 303, M40 or one of the better vinyl dressings on the vinyl.

As for application. I like using a microfiber applicator, the cotton ones will work. Spray it on the applicator THEN use that on the surface. Seems to work better for me.
