After ripping threw several cheap pressure washers, I feel the need to upgrade to a a real solid pressure washer. This time around I want the best of the best. In past shops I have used some higher end heated Karcher just like this one.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on it, but I really don't need all that much of a pressure washer. The biggest problem I have is that, I'm pumping hot water threw pressure washers that are designed for cold water and its burning up the oring in the seals on the pumps. I been doing some research into the camspray electric model like the one phil has at detailers domain. I know this is a great model. My only concern is again pumping hot water threw it. So anyone have any recomendations. Please don't say stop pumping hot water threw a cold water unit. lol Im trying to find something for around $2000.00 or less. I should just pull the trigger on the karcher, IM not sure if I need that much and there $3900.00. Thanks for your input.

An option for you (hard to find a price online but last I checked several years ago they were around $1800:

Landa Hot Water Generator - HS Series

Look a LOT, Barry... there's a ton of manufacturers out there. which ever you get, hot water is tough to beat for cutting greasy stuff. In the carpet cleaning world, the guys "in the know" are aware of this:

After 118ºF, every additional 18 degrees doubles the cleaning power of water.

It's not exactly a doubling because the theory relates to energy, but for the most part you can bank on doubling your potential to clean stuff a lot faster or better with very hot water.

So, when someone like Dupray Industries over on detailingbliss lists specs on their Steam Box Vac Steam Cleaner as creating 378ºF @ 145PSI:

You can be sure that it flat smokes a typical hot extractor! Of course, this doesn't help your search for a capable and affordable hot water unit, but keep the temperature figures in mind.

If I were you, I'd search locally for a reputable business specializing in pressure washer and steam cleaners. Some of these guys may even finance or offer financing of the larger units. We have a few guys in my area that sell high quality units (Landa, Hotsy, and others). Also check to see who around you does portable pressure washing for supermarkets, department stores, heavy equipment, and parking lots. These guys are gonna know which units are reliable, or which business in your area takes care of their customers. We even have a cleaning supply warehouse in our area that specializes in carpet cleaning machines, but he also sells high grade pressure washing units.

Good luck!

Bryan yes i have been looking for a while and nothing has sparked my interest yet!

Kevin,

I seen the landa before, there are nice. I have been shopping here locally with 2 business that specialize in pressure washers for commercial. I'm just really looking now. I want one that will hold up for a long time. Im very big on wet bay work and spend a lot of time there. I want that right unit. Just recently ordered the dynabrade attachment for my makita. While your on this thread, Dynabrade a thumbs up with those smat chemicals?

I use an Alkota hot water pressure washer in our shop. It has an electric motor, and diesel burner. It's great that you can run cold water when you want to, and 210F when you want to.

Wow. I couldn't image ever buying or needing to buy a $3900 pressure washer? I suggest contacting a local car wash equipment supplier and get a quote to have them build you a turn key system.
