Hi guys, anybody use a hot water pressure washer? I know there is a big jump is price for hot water, my question are they that much better, worth the money

If I was in a fixed location I would get one. Being mobile I would not. Or at least not in the summer. But there is a lot more that can be cleaned better using hot water. Sorry if I'm not explaining this good enough. I have a major hangover right now! hehe

I have used a hot water power washer before. It is almost like using a giant steamer cleaner. The thing is, when you are using it, so much steam comes out that it can actually be hard to see what you are trying to clean. (At least, in my experience, plus it was wintertime so the cold air made there be a lot more steam.) I suppose that it really depends on what you want to use it for. The one that I used belongs to my uncle who uses it to clean his construction equipment like large dump trucks and payloaders etc... Those machines obviously contract a lot of grease and dirt. For the average detailer, it probably would not be necessary, but it would be cool to have.

If you decide to go this route definitely check out Hotsy. Their equipment is top notch and they usually have used equipment in their showroom that's priced reasonably.

Hotsy and alkota make awesome units. I have a Hotsy and love it. Warm water cleans 10x better than cold. You could eat off the undercarriage of any of my vehicles, mechanics love this. During the winter I will hot foam and rinse the cars about once a week and use compressed air/driving to dry. Gets them 95% clean quickly and with little work.

Its kinda like having your own self serve bay. Mine is 220v electric and i just flip a switch and go.

I have a Landa hot water pressure washer that we use at my shop to clean semi frames before sandblast, farm equipment and whatever people bring to do work on. Its run by gas and heats the water by diesel. It gets HOT. If you touch the wand where there's not a protective coating you will get burned very bad. If I had a smaller unit it would be awesome to use on all the farm trucks. Though I do I just stand back a ways or don't pull the trigger much. Cleans a million times better then a regular non-heated pressure washer.

I'd say if you in an area where you deal with a lot of muddy vehicles it would be a great investment. But otherwise for regular cars I couldn't see spending the money...
