Hot Water Extractor

I'm in the market for a hot water extractor and i have narrowed my search down to the Mytee Lite II or the Mytee HP60. just wondering what you guys would recommend for a small mobile business that does 1-2 cars a day. I've heard some horror stories about durrmaid so i think i'm going to stay away from them. Is it worth buying a used unit opposed to a new one? Also is there any other contenders around the same price range thats worth looking at? I live in canada so as of right now i'm looking on ebay. If any one can suggest a a better place to look that would be great. Thanks in advance for all the help!

I haven't checked ebay for a while, but the Mytee's on there last I checked, were a good deal, especially with the strong dollar.

I bought a used one and have replaced a few parts on it. So the savings for me on that unit wasn't that great.

On an average car I go through from 3-5 gallons of water. I pre-treat, scrub and extract with plain water or rinse agent added. If you are going to extract with solution in the tank, you will go through more water so you might want the bigger tanks.

Eshine did have a good deal the last time the dollar was strong, but haven't checked lately.

I think with the durrmaid you void your warranty if you put solution in your tank? correct me if i'm wrong. is it like that with Mytee too? i want to pick up the HP60 but the price for a new one is little out of my price range. i've seen a few threads that was selling next to new for 800-1000 bucks but that was way back in 2007 or somthing. What do you think the chances are that i can find one for the price in canada? =( and what do you use for pre-treating?

You can always check around for used ones, but for me, used wasn't the better deal in the long run.

Last time the dollar was $1.10 Chris at Eshine had the lite at I think $800 with free shipping.

Kijiji or ebay?

I use ProChem chemicals, but there are many. The thing about carpet dedicated chemicals is that they are very dilutable 30:1 makes a gallon last a long time. In Edmonton you have Pro Detail Supply, have makes some nice chemicals.

At the moment eShine Lite is 949 and the HP60 is 1599. on ebay HP60 is 1300 including shipping. so that doesn't sound too bad, but i might just wait it out untill i can find a better deal. i wonder how much drying time the HP60 would cut off. the RH in calgary it reactively low. as for kijiji there is NOTHING on there for alberta anyways...
