This was my first HIN and I wanted to share my experience.

I purchased my ticket online for $20 which was a mistake since I ended up winning 2 FREE tickets from Sylvania's automotive LED lighting Facebook giveaway! So I gave my free tickets to my friends and made them buy me breakfast.

We arrived bright and early and there was a long line ahead of us.

I noticed on the ride over lots of people were using blue painters to protect their cars from bug guts. While waiting in line, they were removing the tape and wiping down their cars with QD's.

As the stands began to fill up, drivers began to practice for the evenings drift event.

This guy saved his car from smashing into the wall a couple times during practice.

After a few minutes of watching practice, our female companions suggested we skip practice for some shopping at Orlando's Outlet Malls. We declined, but their perseverance paid off. So we left the Speedway and would return for the show.

We returned and the show was in full swing.

I still prefer the bug eye WRX.

I like the RAY's wheels over these aftermarket ones ;)

Quick detailier streaking was common :(

Between drift sessions, spectators were able to interact with the drivers. I thought it was really cool and personal. I was able to ask a lot of the drivers what they were running. Mostly LS1's with cams and head work.

Changing tires between drifts.

The HIN girls gave out lots of hats and shirts. There were other contests too.

This RX-7 looks like it has a lot of money into it.

 My jaw hit the floor when I saw someone drive into the event in a McLaren 650S.

IMG_0242.JPG

This is funny because we were just talking about this! There was a custom green Mercedes sitting RIGHT NEXT to a McLaren and the Mercedes was getting more attention?!!!?!?!?

The entire night there was tons of drifting. Around the Orlando Speedworld, there is also an 1/8th mile strip an a 1/4 mile strip. So there were 3 different events you could attend at the same time.

It was a great family event.

I even picked up this sweet shirt from the model herself.

Overall I had a blast. I was never a fan of drifting until I watched it live. The atmosphere was great and I'll be looking forward to attending next years event. I've got more pictures and videos on my camera I'll add to this post later tonight.

Thanks for reading!

Glad to see you had a great time there. I enjoy the one they had in St Pete about 4-5 yrs ago and it was a blast. :bigups

BTW the blue tape has being use for over 20 yrs when folks are driving to events, but we can layer sealants on our's and use PB Bug Squash to remove them when we get there. Mine came right off after I got home from Ron's place.
