Horribly swirled red integra.....need help

So I let a friend detail my car for me, I know that was my first mistake. A number of mistakes were made first off it was supposed to be just wash and hand wax, I figured how much harm could the kid do???? Well he found Dad's buffer and went to town and used Zymol wax not made for rotary use. So needless to say I have huge swirls all over the car.
I am not an expert by an means. I own a rotary buffer and picked up some Meguirs swirl remover 2.0 and a meguirs wax. I am not an expert with the rotary by any means. I am looking into getting a PC since that seems to be what everyone uses.
Heres the question, using a PC and maybe Poorboys product what steps and with what pads and products would you reccomend? The car is swirled very bad and is Bright red. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Swirls mean buffing marks in this sense. Just me, but I would try (Step 1) PB SSR2.5 with a light cut pad, followed by (Step 2) SSR1 with the same pad, and (Step 3) a finishing polish or glace with the softest pad you've got, a finishing pad. This should do it, with one simple even application for each step (like 3-4 mins/section).

You can try Step 2 first on the hood and see if it works. If so, skip step 1.

I've heard people use KAIO + a nice wax and it worked, but it sounds like the kid did a big number.

Do you have any Menzerna products?

You will need them. I have a red Integra and they are all I use. I would go with Powergloss and Final Polish II. You will need a cutting and polishing pad.

Have you been over to www.bettercarcare.com and read about using a PC?

The Integra man has spoken. Listen well any you might get your car to look half as good a his. Sean's car is the best looking red Integra I have seen yet.

No I dont have any menza products but I will pick them up. Thanks for the comments and help. So hopefully a 2 step process should be enough with the menza products and a PC?

Most likely, but it depends on the severity of the swirls...any pics??

I agree with Sean though..Menzerna polishes finish great on red as do Poorboys polishes.

Remember to start with one section, using the least aggressive pad/product combo (from what you describe I'd start with a medium aggressive polish like IP and polishing pad), work that section, repeating passes or using more aggressive product/pads until the desired finish is achieved. Doing this will let you see what is needed for the rest of the car without sacrificing more of your clear coat that you have to.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the help, the PC is ordered along with the products. I will let you know how everything turns out.

So heres some crap... I finally get all my stuff in on Tuesday night and sure enough wednesday night as I'm driving home I get sideswiped by two spanish guys in a crappy red Jetta. Do they have the courtesy to pull over, of course not they take off doing about 100 down the road. I guess they were scared I would call INS and back to Mexico they go.
I'm sorry I have no problem with anyone who wants to come to this country but please get a license, pay insurance and pay your flipping taxes like everyone else has to in order to be a citizen. So now I don't know if it's even worth reporting and getting fixed and watching my insurance go up for an accident not my fault.
Well at least I got my products and am looking forward to using them.

I'd report it as a hit and run. I understand how you feel about being illegal in this country......I would also call your insurance and see what they say...you don't have to turn it in to talk to them....you might find they will do more for you than just raise your rates

Well I did file a report with the police and I talked to my insurance last night and they said it would covered under Un-insured motorists. However, they wouldn't tell me that my rates wouldn't go up. Did I follow them, well briefly and yes in my teg GSR I could have easily ran them down however, I just didnt want to endanger myself or others. Sometimes it sucks growing up and thinking responsibly.

I agree but you did the right thing

I just thought you might call them while talking to the police on the phone, that way you would have plate #s, descriptions, etc, and possibly the police could catch them right then and there. Not meaning to chase them down or do any damage to anyone.
