3 days shy of 5 months on the hood

for details

so long story short at around 4 months I noticed the exo v2 side grew a bald spot and started losing it`s nice beads as well so I topped it with PA high gloss, which apparently didn`t stick to the exov2 because it made essentially no water behavior difference when I washed a few weeks later or it just washed off perhaps

I since have used Ech20 as drying aid and it brought back some of the water behavior (well, i guess technically it iust provided some beading until it wears off)

Guz suggested it was time for a decon wash so I had some spare time this AM and its supposed to rain so I figured why not

rinsed hood and sprayed BDX generously all over hood

let sit for a few mins and wiped in with a wash mitt and then rinsed off

well it brought back some good sheeting to CSL, seems to have unaffected the csl+exov2 much but nothing was wrong with it
it also brought back the exov2s bald spot

hope the vid loads of after bdx wash

i cant get the vids to load and if i get motivated later i will upload them to and embed from youtube

but the exov2 was clearly in last place, csl somewhat cane back to life, sheeting wise only, and csl+exov2-well that stuff is still as ridiculous as day 1...but its killing me because I want to top ot and nothing will make it any better, only probably worse as ive seen with topping it in the pasr, it takes away some of the very high contact angle on the beads

well i just couldnt look at this anymore

Nice update. Did you notice any change on how the surface felt in terms of roughness from contaminants?

When I deconed my dad`s car that has gloss coat, I sprayed ferrex right onto the dirty paint. It does two things. One is it sticks better as the dirt holds it in place and two it is undiluted by any water on the surface. But I also washed the car with a mix of APC in my wash solution to attack the built up road grime. I did it t the 5 1/2 month mark. The process didn`t make it 100% contaminant free but I would say it`s around 90% contaminant free which is not bad for a car that sits outside 24/7. I can feel some small areas that have some.

I didn`t notice any but wasn`t really looking either

yea I probably should have asked how to best do the decon wash but I just hosed it down and then sprayed on the wet hood and then wiped in with a mitt and rinsed off..nothing else at all used

- I just went outside and felt the hood and even with the PBL booster on the stand alone sections, the csl + exov2 side is STILL slicker!

edit: I`ll be interested to see how long the PBL keeps the beads up on those stand alone sides

well so far the only thing I "clogged" the csl+evov2 with was toppers...it shows zero signs of fatigue, something that cannot be said of the same two products as stand alone...

it`s really not even close...take this filthy hood after just sprayed with water...

not even close

I`d say one could top csl with a booster Every time they wash and it would still never approach the madness that is csl+exov2 together....I`m tempted to start a 3rd csl topping test and see how insane 4 layers of exov2 or v3 on top of csl is, but who knows if I`ll get around to that

Brandt, do you think this means the csl + exo side is better at shedding the contaminants before it gets "clogged up"?

I love these tests. Thank you for the time you take to do this and update us.
That csl + exov2 is just ridiculous!! Love it
Can`t wait to see how v3 holds up.
