Holy cow this PC rocks!!!!!!

YNOT

Poorboys Rules!
Okay...I had bought a PC back in September but never had time to use it. Well a month ago or so, I played with it a small bit on my hood but didn't have time to do the whole thing. Well...I was off work today so I did it!!

I realize to many of you 'pros' it may not look like I did much, but I was thoroughly amazed at the amount of scratches and swirls in the paint and how they are now just magically gone!!!! This PC friggin' rocks!!

I guess it just takes time and practice but it took me a little over 2.5 hours to just go over the whole thing with the SSR1. Then I hit it with some EX which actually only took me about an hour or so.

Is that kind of time okay?...too fast? I know in time as I get more comfortable with it I'll speed up.

Nevertheless, here's what I did...

Washed with Megs Gold Class (and my Wolfgang bucket!)
Claybarred the entire car
Claybarred the glass
SSR1 with a finishing pad
EX with polishing pad
Stoners on all glass inside and out
NXT Insane Shine on the Toyos
Coffee and Red Bull for myself for motivation!!

So, here are some pics...I know they aren't the greatest. It's cold and crappy here today.

There you have it. Please offer me up any tips or advice...anything I can do better or should not have done.

Last but not least...thanks to EVERYONE here who has offered me tips and big thanks to Troy!!!:bigups This place has been a tremendous help in fueling my new addiction!!

Not bad at all!! Over time you'll be able to speed things up but there is a lot of paint on there to take care of! Everything that I can see looks great. Congrats on the first full detail with the PC. Good job.

Nice Job and the Car Looks Great! If you ever get that chance try some ClearKote Red Moose Glaze on the Black. I own two Black Vehicles and this glaze is Fantastic for a deep wet look. Topped off with some Natty's Blue I think you will be very Happy.

Fine work! It looks wonderful. If you can do that your first time out you don't need any advice.

SSR1 with a finishing pad
EX with polishing pad
Looks great!
It's awfully hard to knock success, but a polishing pad for the SSR1 and a finishing pad for the EX would have been my choice.
The polishing pad/SSR1 combination would have made the removal of paint blemishes a little faster and would still have left the paint ready for the EX.
Since the EX isn't a polish, the polishing pad didn't really help in the application. The finishing pad would have done as good if not better job and might even have absorbed a little less product.

Regardless of what I think, your results speak for themselves. :bigups :bigups :bigups

Yes, I would agree unless you have two finishing pads you could have followed the SSR1 with a finishing pad after a polishing pad to give even more gloss. The PC can be a very useful tool :rockon ....also any additional coats of EX should be done by hand, only the first can be done by PC ;)

Whoops...my bad. I think I had them mixed up when I typed this. I used a white (wolfgang) pad for the SSR1 and a gray (wolfgang) pad for the EX.

Is that right??

That gray pad sure holds the product...I kept washing and washing to get the residue out and it just kept coming. it's like it was multiplying.

yes, that is right..i guess you just had a typo ;) :notme: :gotcha:

You seem to be as happy as I was when I first used my PC. It looks like you did a great job!

Thanks again, so much, to everyone here!:thanks

I was so disgusted and discouraged when I got this 'black' car. I've always been picky with my cars, but this one I was so critical of and the slight swirls and such were just driving me crazy. I was so afraid that I'd never get it to look perfect and I'd regret ever buying 'black'.

After this, I'm convinced that it'll be alright...it's just going to be a ton of work to keep it up as I've already found out due to the fact that I wash it at least once a week...sometimes 2 or 3 times even.

As long as I can keep it looking this good I'll be a happy camper! But I'll definately buy a white car next...lol.

One last question...when I go to wash it for the first time after this, can I continue using my Meg's quick Detailer or will that effect the EX??

OK...maybe 1 more...how long can I expect to get out of the EX before I need to re-apply?

Yes you can use the Megs QD ...

Your mileage may vary due to maintence :lmfaobut i would apply it every 3-4 months ;)

Poorboy...can I have your phone number?? I seem to be keeping you quite busy answering all of my questions!!

Seriously...I thank you for your time and help!!
