Highest level of UV protection from an LSP?

Your best bet is to tint your windows and use a windshield shade.

It's not only the UV that will damage your interior it's extreme heat. With a shade and tint you greatly reduce that heat.

An LSP... no matter what the claim of UV protection will not do a better job than this.

Good luck.

Setec, it was a similar thread (discussing UV damage), but that wasn't the one. The one I'm thinking of was a multiple subject thread: CC thickness, UV protection of CC's, UV protection of LSP's. I *think* it was David Fermani who quoted the source stating UV protection in LSP's was worthless... I could be wrong, though. According to my wife, there's a *very* good chance of that...

I tried looking for it but didn't have any luck. I'll keep trying.....

I think it might have been Sal , i could be wrong, that said UV protection in any product is the first layer to sacrifice it's protection.

Also to the OP, auto glass in itself has great UV protection built in.

No one here has answered his question. WHICH LSP PRODUCT GIVES BEST UV PROTECTION.

My Z5Pro bottle uses the terms "advanced protection" in regards to the UV protectors. I think this a case of needing to call each manufacturer/reseller and asking the question direct.

Yeah, you could, but how would you ask it? I don't know what kindof number would be assigned to this, and I seriously doubt anyone at these places would have ever done a real test on it anyway.

Ask,

1. Do you test the UV protection in your products?

2. How and under what conditions?

Great point. :2thumbs:

OASN - It never seems like any LSPs have great lifespans on glass anyways.

As crazy as it sounds the Gloss It on my windshield is still beading like crazy after two months (and wiper use). I know it sounds crazy, but I'm serious.

Since this thread kinda went off topic, I thought post some pictures of a Toyota Avalon that the body is painted in base-clear, but the trim(except bumper) was done in single stage. Shows you how much clear coat can help with pentrating UV rays. Note the fading'dicoloration:

You don't get very much UV protection from ANY wax. There is some uv protection additive in your car's clearcoat. UV is also not a major cause of oxidation. It is generally caused by dirt and grime damaging your clear. If you want UV protection you can Matrix coat it, but no wax has any substantial UV protection additive in it.
