[quote name='tdekany'][quote name='fiveiron'] Virginia is beautiful.

I have not been to Fairfax---I spent a summer in Reston about 10 years ago.

I like green---not a lot of green in Phoenix, forest is about 100 miles north.

Very different now.

I am sure Phoenix is different too, haven't been there in about 5 years. I made it to Flagstaff in April.

Just to let you know, you can buy a new town home 5 minutes from where I live that I saw being built by driving by daily for about $840.000!! True worth: About $50.000 if you ask me.

Enough ranting.

You win! You can still buy an average (very average) 3 bed/ 2 bath home for under $300K here. And the weather is so nice that there really isn't an off season for detailing.

That's what I love about this town. Heck, we didn't get rain for what -- 180 consecutive days or something like that? I'm lovin' it, heat and all. The car (knock on wood) has handled it well and the A/C blows ice cold. Thankfully I get to park in a garage at night and a covered parking space during the day, so the car doesn't get baked day in and day out.

Unbelievable. That car would look great for 238 miles, much less 238,000. Awesome. I always liked that car.

You and your non rust worry-ing locations

Yeah, not too big of a concern around here. I did spend one winter up in northern Utah finishing up my undergrad. I was super paranoid about salt collection on the undercarriage and found myself pressure-washing the undercarriage at least a couple of times a week.

Edit: I found a picture from that winter.

It's not something I'd like to expose a car to year after year, and for that I'm glad to live in the southwest.

That's a real compliment; thanks! Just turned over 239,500 yesterday actually.

KUDOS!

As much as it's impressive to see what many detailers can do to a really whipped mini-van, it's also really nice to see the rare breed that has been taking care of. That car could pass for 12k rather than the actual 230k on the clock.

Just one fine point... parking on the highway, across the double solid, after a blind curve may be hazardous to your health !!!
