I'm looking for a gloss tire shine. I've been using Optimum which I've liked but I'd like to try something new. I see that Griot's now offers a high gloss, has anyone tried it? I want to make sure it doesn't sling.
If I was wanting a hi gloss tire shine I would be different and look at the newer line of products like Auto Finesse or gtechniq to name a few (there are several others). Just to try something new.
This is an example of a tire dressing product "Rich" on "Solvents" Just like Dan mentioned........
The following tire was dressed with a well known brand of tire shine, you can clearly see all the chemical residue coming to the surface after the wheel & tire cleaner was applied. ( Not only the tires were brown, but the side panels of the test vehicle were full of the product.
Have you considered the SONAX High Gloss Tire Gel or Four Star Ultimate Tire Protectant Gel. The SONAX is one of the glossiest that I have used. You do have to let it dry for a little while so it doesn't sling. But if glossy is what you're going for, I'd definitely consider it.
That stuff has some serious shine, it appears to be a liquified version of CG VRP, however all that gloss is gone after the first rain storm, even if not driven. Most water based stuff holds up for me as long as I don't drive in the rain.
