Hi-temp light cut vs Megs #80

Can anyone with direct experience compare the usefulness and abrasiveness of these two products? Using a PC, how does Hi-temp light cut compare to DACP, Megs #80 or #9? Is it good at removing haze left over by DACP or other compounding with a PC?

I plan to step up my polishing when everything warms up and am tempted by the low price of Hi-temp products.

I find the LC to be just about as abrasive as #80. IMO, they are pretty much equal in that department.

#80 will break down faster and make the paint darker. Some people think it has fillers, it might but I think that the "oils" in the product make it work better and leave a better finish. I have not really noticed any fillers when I use it, #80 leaves the paint squeeky clean.

LC breaks down rather quickly as well, even with the PC. The residue wipes off easily and leaves a very bright polished look. IMO, LC is a no nonsense polish that does just that....polishes.

HT MC is closer to DACP.

The HT line is very nice, I have had success with both LC and MC. I do however reach for my Meguiars more often. Not that I think one is better than the other, it is just what I learned on and what I am comfortable with.

Hope this helps.

Heh, heh !!

But did they use 4*UPP to keep it slick enough to keep off the bullets?!! Probably just the Russian Turtle Wax! :hah

An old Russian vet I met in Petersburg told me, he wished they'd been a little more careful in building the things. Screws and bolts would fly around inside if the tank got hit by any shell.

And they were sharp, too. I remember sitting in one in a military park. Boy, what unfinished edges and screwtips! But it was a MACHINE!!!

BTW, where are you located?

Szervusz jvn,

This is the second time I read Hungarian words from a fellow detailer. Tdekany is also Hungarian. His recent works are terrific. Seems that you traveled a lot in former east-block countries...

Just to not hijack the thread completely, I didn't use #80 or LC either, but I didn't have to revive that matte olive, military paint! :rofl

Again, thanks for the kind words and we'll talk again!

Szervusz.
