Hi-New from central NJ/NYC, good pros in that area?

Hi,

This looks like an interesting place, both products and posts. I have a compact silver Acura for which I've no longer been able to do the right things on my own. For a while now only been taking it through a quick hand-wash joint . Better than spinning brushes, but the neglect shows.

Maybe someone here can recommend a good detailing outfit in Central NJ - centered, say, around Edison, So. Plainfield, Piscataway, New/East Brunswick, etc., or as an alternate in Staten Island/Brooklyn NY.

Never used a pro, but I guess what I'm thinking about is standard: besides getting into all the exterior crevices and wheel wells, it could probably use a claying, maybe a light polish to get rid of very minor swirls and fingernail marks - I don't really expect scratch or paint-chip repairs - treat the plastic and rubber, and finally a good paint sealant. Inside besides the glass, a dusting, a cleaning to get rid of scuffs and hand marks on the doors, vinyl/leather, a vacuuming of the carpets, and maybe a shampoo of the mats.

When I was better able, maybe I was a cleaner but never a real detailer - just used to do a bi-weekly basic washing, dressing of the tires, and damp wipe inside surfaces. In addition, at irregular intervals of months, outside: clay, Klasse All-In-One (might top that with a plain carnuba wax); inside: Lexol on the leather and 303 on the vinyl.

Any comments would be welcome. I look forward to stopping by Detail City regularly.

Welcome Jam.

Good to have you. Enjoy the place, even if you can;t do too much.

It's a good group of people.

I would highly recommend Kurt ... he even did my MIL's car and she usually can complain about something , but she didn't after Kurt's detail :rockon

Wow. Thanks for all the kind responses, offers and suggestions. :dcrules

I'll be out of town for a while, but will check each of them out when I'm back. I wouldn't have access to water and power, so I don't think mobile would be an option. (And I'm not sure I could mail my EZpass to sal329 to subsidize a detailing-trip to SI :-)

Thanks again.

BTW, I'm curious whether things like tiny (mm^2 or pencil point sized) paint chips (as might be seen with a point door ding) are considered "paint-correction" done by pro detailers, or is that body-shop territory. I still have vials of OEM touch-up paint + clearcoat from when I first got the car - my old efforts may have prevented rust, but never looked good.
