HI Joe,

Hey Joe,
Just FYI, I had a dirty truck after the recent snow and resulting mud on my road and made the mistake of going to a do-it-yourself wash with high pressure sprayers and brush. The sprayer wasn't the big deal, but the hose from the brush when I was washing the wheels actually left scratches as I went around the truch washing the wheels. Apparently the hose was dirty and managed to leave either rub marks or actual scratchs in the clear coat. REAL BUMMEr.

My advise for washing a dirtry truck is get a washing glove/mit that is soft (sold at auto stores), and use the mit after you've rinsed the easily removed grit off w/o applying any scrubbing. The caked on mud will only scratch your paint if you attempt to use a sponge or even the mit before you get the heavy mud to break away on its own. After you've rinsed away the caked on mud then evaluate the level of grit, if you need to spray rinse with a higher power stream to break up the mud. Then use the mit to gently wash the truck. This has been my method since the bad car wash experience. Hope it helps.
