Hi everyone,

I'm very impressed with this forum. i joined a year (ish) ago and here I go with my first post (ever to any forum!)...not much of a techie but want to learn. Anyway, I've always loved cars and keeping them looking good but caught the full blown detailing bug a few years ago. I'm going to be starting a part time mobile business before the end of 2014. I've already learned a lot from this site, and will continue to read and learn, and hopefully one day be able to pitch in and help someone out

Californiadream -
Welcome, and thanks for your first post !

This is a great place for learning - the articles and videos are outstanding and without a doubt, anything done by Todd Helme would be really good to watch..

Hope you get to do what you want up there - the end of the year might be a little hard to work outside if you have bad weather, no ?

Hi Stokdgs, thanks for the welcome. I imagine it will be a slow start for my business, but I figure it will work well by allowing me to get some of the kinks out before I (hopefully) get busy in the Spring. I'm on the West Coast so the climate is mild (for Canada), our Winter is basically a rainy season and we only get snow once or twice a year. That said it is still cold, and they salt the roads, and the nice cars mostly get put away till Spring.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! It is a great site. I didn't get just how much there is to learn until I found Autopia...so much (great) information!

Welcome Californiadream to a very informative, and helpful site.

We lived for nearly nine years in Canader. First in Quebec, and then near Vancouver. Drove a 3/4 ton Ford truck and Porsche 911 Targa during most of our great "Canadian era". Guess.... which vehicle,.. earned its oats in the winters? "Van" is a fairly easy clime to maintain any car/truck. Quebec? Much like the NE and midwestern parts of the US. Same problems both north, and south, of the "border".

Truck Loads (sorry, couldn't resist) of good information on Autopia Forums.

Again,...Welcome.
