This really belongs in the Car Ownership forum, but I wanted to make sure you saw it (moderators- feel free to move it, but please wait a while). Was gonna post it after one of your replies but didn't want to hijack any threads. So..

Lynn- Just noticed your two (!) XJC's! :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

I had (a REALLY ratty) one before getting the XJS and OMG do I love those cars. Truly one of my all-time favorite vehicles. I've looked at a few "show winning" ones but they were never good enough (and I'm into "time capsule" cars). I gather yours are in very nice shape- lucky you. I'd really enjoy hearing more about them.

Well, Accumulator, you sho-nuf know how to make a person glow with pride. Thanks!

When I first joined Autopia, I posted a couple of pix of the white XJ6C in the gallery, and now you've inspired me to add one of the red one: http://www.autopia.org/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=3936&thumb=1 They're not very good; after lunch, I'll see if I can pull a few more off my CD. Also, BradB posted a few in this thread But I got to that event driving 125 miles thru ice and snow. (Yes, it is a daily driver.)

So ... what do you want to know? Like any parent, I could go on or days and days ...

The white one is in great condition. Showed her in 3 JCNA Concours last fall, and won the national championship for class 11 with a 99.71 average. (Lowest score was at the 1st Concours, in St. Louis, before I discovered Autopia, when I still thought ArmorAll and Turtlewax were great products. ) Best of all, she's a real head-turner; as I drive around town, I often laugh at the people getting whiplash as I go by. :D

Got the red one in November. She looks pretty good in the photo I posted. What you can't see there is the paint (heavily oxidized), bad bondo over the arches, vinyl roof badly scratched and split. It'll be a long time before this baby takes a concours trophy home. But wow! Does she ever run!!! :up And she would actually score quite high in authenticity. (Still has the original radio with 8-track and it works!) And ya gotta love all that chrome.

Got any more questions, just let me know. Or, you other Autopians, just let us know if you want us to move this discussion to PM.
