Here is how I fit all my detailing stuff in my trunk

Hey Scottwax... maybe it's time for an SUV?

Uh....NO! I'd have to clean it and I already detail enough SUVs and trucks. I can wash, glaze and wax my car in about an hour and 15 minutes. Can't do that with anything larger.

Besides, I like getting 23 mpg in town and 31 mpg on the freeway.

The first thing I noticed in your pic is the Sears Craftsman Car Vac. Very good choice for the money!

I agree Frank. Very powerful for the size and price (around $70) and it converts to a blower. I got 3 years of use out of my last one, about double what I was getting out of Shop Vacs.

Have you found any use out of the blower feature on these shop vacs? Mine has the same thing, where it converts...but I have yet to find a good use for it in the detailing world.

In addition to what BlackRegal said, it is also useful for blowing leaves off the cars, out of the engine compartment and away from the tires when you dress them. You can also blow out the vents and between interior panels with it.

Thats amazing. Here I am shopping for a 14 foot box van because my 98 GMC savana is too small to fit my gen, extractor, water tank, DI tanks, Pressure washer, reclaim, equip ect.....

Scottwax,

I see you still carry QEW and 5 gallons of water. Is it a problem borrowing your customer's faucets?

What percent of your customer's cars do you have to QEW?

Not a lot of faucets at office parking lots. ;) At a customer's house, if I am running low on water, no one has ever denied me using their water to fill my bucket. It's only a gallon anyway. I have one customer who wants me to use his pressure sprayer and water dionizer, so when I do cars at his office, I use the one he has there on his cars and his employees. It's just easier to wash all the cars the same way.

The noise doesn't bother me at all, and it is noticably quieter than any of the Shop Vacs I've had. I wear headphones anyway when I am working. No performance problems with it either. The suction is more than strong enough to lift floor mats.

When it finally wears out, I may look into your suggestions, but no point in replacing a good vacuum that is relatively new.

I had to cut down on the supplies I keep in my trunk. It was taking away from the room I needed back there. With all my stuff, I was limited to just one dead body.
