Here are some pics of the damage

Well, these are the best pics I can get until I get a sunny day outside (been cloudy the last week or so).

Take the swirling you see, and do it x1000. My camera cant really capture the swirling that well. Once I get my 500watt halogen light hooked up, then it might, but until then I got a couple pics.

Swirling on trunk lid:

Hood marring and swirls (very hard to see in pics, but in person, its very noticable):

Yea so, you think PC + 3M III MG can get this out?

Im thinking of doing that, and following up with S100 (would use MG on white pad to polish up), or should I follow up with a polish like Meguiars #7 with the white pad ?

Man those are pretty bad. I would hit those with a yellow compounding pad and some Poorboys 2.5 or 3 or some Menzerma IP. I love Mez IP there isnt much that I have not been able to get out with it. But to me the one thing that still gets everyting out that I have come in contact with albeit sometimes with a rotary

Detailgirl: Difficult to tell how deep those swirls are in a picture, but if any product can get them out using a PC, it is 3M PI-III RC followed by MG IMHO. If RC 7 MG wil not "cut it" I think you are looking at using a rotary.

Good luck..and consider taking it back to the shop that swirled it. I know you probably do not trust them much now, but it really is their responsilbility to fix the mess they made.

Well id like to update you guys. I got my PC 7424 in the mail today, and I washed down the car and tried out the new PC.

I started off with 3M PIII MG with the yellow cutting pad that came with it, and wow!

I got out roughly 85% of all the swirls and holograms. I still need to do some more work, but i was only testing it out. Im gonna set aside all day thursday (9am-4pm) to detail the entire car. I cannot beleive the power of the PC!

Im so glad I bought it. I laugh at what the detailing shop told me when i was down there last week "Be careful with those DAs, they dont exactly work well with compounds like that machine glaze, 3M compounds are meant for Rotarys only". HAH, I took out all the swirl marks they put into my paint on most of the hood (still have a couple spots to go over some more).

What would be a good polish to follow up with on the white pad after using the 3M PIII MG on the yellow pad?

I cant wait to attack the whole car on thursday! I love my new PC.... :)
