This is the bootlid of my black 190e. What should I use to get these marks out?

I have a PC orange sfx pad and some perfect it 3 machine glaze? Should I start with this or something more abrasive. I'm in the UK so can only get hold of 3m or farecla products locally.... Pics removed see below!

Thanks guyz

No it's not op... it's more like a cross hatch scratching but not sandpaper.... I'm loathe to start sanding!!! Though I suppose that may be the only way. The scratching is not through to the primer and the paint seems very hard. When I take machine glaze to the bonnet on a cloth, the cloth goes black... on the boot there is no colour leaching at all, almost as if someone has applied a clearcoat to the boot!!! As you can see the rest of the paintwork is pretty good althought here are a lot of spider-webs which I am just about to take care of! :brit

These pics may be better:

Single stage paint? Oxidation? The only time I've heard of paint coming off when you polish is on a single stage paint job, although I wouldn't guess that on a black Benz it would be SS paint.

Check the links in my sig to the UK forum. We have a thread full of listings and discussion about products you can get locally or can import easily. Good luck :)
