help with swirl removal!

Hi guys!

I recently bought some products, best I can find here and tried to delete some swirls on my trunk. It's a diamond black metalic BMW. The trunk is covered with long in sun visible marks, but only visible if looking from side, when I reflect paint with neon light or at direct sunlight, nothing, it's fine. I will give my best to take a shot tomorow, it's a rainy weather here.

OK...I done this: washed the car gently and dried it...after that I applied SCHOLL profi compound medium grade number 17 SCHOLL Concepts bietet Autopflege- und Instandsetzungs-Produkte. Besuchen Sie unseren Online Auto- & Lackpflege Ratgeber., I done this by hand using polishing cotton. After this I applied Farecla Black top hand glaze to finish but next day same thing, they are still visible in sun.

I am really getting sick of this colour, watching these black cars here and they are PERFECT, I have never seen such a nice detailed cars. I cannot imagine that they can be such a great in sun.

If someone can help me, I bought a rotary recently too but didn't use it. Maybe should try with it.

Thanks for any help:bigups

I haven't used a single product you mentioned, but I don't think you can do any real correction without a machine. You have a rotary, but unless you have experience with a dual action then you probably won't want to try your rotary on your car because you could seriously damage the paint.

You CAN do correction by hand with some very fine polishes, but you would really have to work it a long time in a very small area. I say you should buy a DA and some quality foam pads and your swirls will be gone in no time.

I am not familiar with the products you mentioned, but I do a gazillion black Bimmers. If you have a rotary polisher and ZERO experience, you need to practice on some test panels (like a junkyard door or trunk lid). Otherwise, as mentioned above, you could do some serious damage to the paint.

Basically you will need the following:

1. Rotary with backing pad

2. Compound foam pad and foam polishing pad

3. Compound (3M Extra Cut or Optimum are 2 good ones)

4. Polish (Meguiar's #83 or Menzerna are good ones)

5. Wax (either sealant or carnuba...it's a personal choice)

With enough practice, you could bring the finish to the desired results like this metallic black I did

Good luck on your quest. It is very satisfying to complete and one you'll be happy with.

From the pictures, the scratches do not appear too deep. You can remove them with a rotary and a good polish (Meguiar's #83 or Poorboy's SSR 2.5) and the correct pad. Follow that with a polish using Menzerna 106ff and finally a coat of wax.

Holler at me via my cell phone. I have a black Ferrari and a gray twin turbo 996 Porsche to complete next week.

I wonder where you live and where did you find the Scholl products?

I live in Croatia, I found them in local profi paint shop, pretty expensive product and only avaliable in 1L package.

Can you give me advice, you are working with it...I have rotary and Scholl S17...what else do I need to remove these awfull swirls of my car? Can you explain me in details please, it's my first time and I don't want to ruin my paintwork. Thanks
