Help with SIP using PC

I plan on using SIP on my 550i with my PC and an Orange pad.



I wanted some quick tips on how long to stay in each 2x2' area. What are the best signs that the SIP is broken down and I need to stop?



Also, should I tape off items like the BMW emblem or...? What is typically taped when using SIP? I have only used Zaino PC prior and didnt tape anything. Is SIP on orange pad with a PC aggressive enough that I need to tape? If so, what? and with what tape?

I always do a test area with the least aggressive pad/polish combo and work up from there. The PC with 4" LC pads work well. You will also need to follow up SIP with another polish like 106ff.
 
Good luck, I tried SIP today with an orange pad by PC and had a hell of a time removing it. Let alone all of the dust that it left everywhere. I ended up switching up to 105.
 
for me sip is my heavy hitter. mainly because i dont have any other polish right now haha. but i have never had a problem removing it, but it does dust considerably. i really want to try some m105.
 
but to answer your question, you would probably polish each section for at least 3 minutes. slow passes moving about 2 inches per second (even slower) with moderate pressure. The polish will start to look almost clear and you'll see it flashin back to an opaque film just behind the edge of the pad.
