HELP with rotary use. I can't get it!

I'd be getting on the phone w/someone to find out what's what. I don't like monkey business with Internet Vendor's.

Couldn't call them as they were already closed by time I found out (I am on West coast, their CS is on East). I already e-mailed them and will call them tomorrow if I don't see a reply first thing in the morning.

well hopefully it's just a small misunderstanding and everything get sorted.

I know once I make up my mind to pull the trigger on a new toy, er ah tool, I can't wait to get my sweaty paws on it.

Well, I got an "explanation" that they had two in stock but received three orders and mine was, of course, third, and that they should be getting more in two weeks. I will be calling Hitachi themselves tomorrow to see what's up with stock.

Seems plausible enough, long as they haven't charged your CC yet I'd see what happens in a few weeks.

It does, but yet contradicts what AceTool is saying about their own shipments of same tool, which is that they drop ship straight from Hitachi and that Hitachi usually ships them in 48 to 72 hours and that they sold twelve just last week. Makes me wonder where this perceived huge and long "backorder" issue with Coastal Tools and others is coming from.

I called Hitachi. Their customer service is telling me they (Hitachi) is on backorder as they are selling so well demand outpaces supply. My comment was "Then what are you waiting for to get supply increased?" I guess I will have to patiently wait.

Attaboy, go get 'em tiger.:goodjob .

Damn shame too, what with the 3 day holiday on and what appears to be decent weather. The right time to try a new tool out.

Well, I did place few low blows, like "Check out Autopia and see how many people want your tool but then end up purchasing something else because of backorders."

Oh, I will have my hands full next three days anyway. Two cars I want to complete and lots of toys.

Sounds to me like incomplete breakdown of the polish. Do a search and find some pics as to what an incomplete vs. complete polish breakdown looks like.

If the polish is not fully broken down it will essentially induce more swirls.

I am also a noob with the rotary. I am waiting for my "buffing with confidence" DVD to arrive before I attempt anything!

Good Luck

Being a fellow noob, I can tell you that that is a great DVD! It is one thing to get all the excellent tips and information on here. But to actually see it in action is priceless! There are a lot of good little tips and tricks on the DVD too. You will probably watch it more than once to get all the good info off it.
