Help with product recommendations

There's a guy at my office who just bought a new truck (grey dodge dakota). He wants to keep it in good shape, but he's not a detailing guy. I'm having trouble deciding what to tell him to get. Longevity, cost, and ease of aplication are important concerns.

I was originally going to recommend NXT but after reading some reviews here I am not convinced that it's longevity is good enough to recommend. So I was going to tell him Klasse since the longevity on it is so great (an entire winter with no reapplication is a distinct possibility!). Klasse is good because of it's longevity, good shine, and non-abrasive cleaner.

The problem comes when we start talking about polish. In the future I think he will want to polish since he's started to notice swirl marks on other cars since I told him about them. I was going to recommend some #9 which would be perfect since it will both fill and polish. The problem is that if I'm telling him to AIO, he's going to remove all the fillers and that's not good. I suppose I could tell him to get some Menzerna or something, but I think fillers are actually something we want in this case...I also have my first bottle of Menzerna on the way...so I don't know if I want to recommend it before I use it myself.

I mean, should I just recommend carnuba here? I don't think that would provide the longevity he wants. I was even thinking Zaino (which is crazy for me...not a huge Zaino fan) but I don't think he will build up enough coats to make it worth using. Klasse seems perfect...but what to do about polish?

I wish Ardex products were more widely available since that stuff would be *perfect* for him...

I agree with the Klasse recommendation. I did a beige benz (early 90s) with a lot of swirls/scratches last year. #9, followed by AIO and SG worked wonders.

Simple solutions are frequently the best...for a lot of things in life. Add complexity when you (your friend) decide you enjoy the "sport" !
