Help with process

I am looking to detail my Black Maxima this weekend and I have a couple of questions. Could I just go Meg's SwirlX-PB Black Hole-Natty's Blue (2 coats)? Not too much major correction is needed but there is some swirls in the paint. Will the process mention be good enough or should the surface need to be prepped more? It was clayed not too long ago. I will be using the LC CCS White and Black pads on a PC 7424. My next question is how many pads should I need? I have one of each now but I could bring in a couple more if I need them. Thanks everyone!

Very hard to answer your question with the amount of detail you've provided.

1) You say "not too much major correction is needed but there are some swirls in the paint". It's very difficult to know what you're really up against with no pictures or without seeing it in person.

2) You ask "will the process mentioned be good enough or should the surface be prepped more". "Good enough" is in the eye of the beholder. It all depends on what results you are content with.

All I can suggest is that you tape off a test area, try correcting with the SwirlX on a white pad, and see if you're able to get results that satisfy you. If not, then you'll need to step up to something more aggressive, i.e. SwirlX on an orange pad, or a more aggressive product like Ultimate Compound (staying with Meguiars OTC since you mention SwirlX) on a white or orange pad.
