Help with ONR Technique?

I like ONR a lot. I use it as a QD and drying aid. I would love to use it on my Black Mica Mazda3 this winter to keep it clean. So, I am looking for tips on how to produce the best, mar-free results. Can anyone share their best practices with me?

Thanks.

I've had excellent results with this process here in New Hamphire during the winter months when the car is covered with salt and sand and have had no marring.

Two gallons of warm water with 1 OZ of ONR. Using a well rung out MF towel do the inside windows of the car and dry with a waffle weave MF.

I then add another 1 OZ of ONR to the two gallons since our water is hard in Nashua. Before doing the body of the car I mix 1/2 OZ ONR with 1 gallon of water in a Garden

Pressure sprayer and wet down the entire car--I only do this when the car is really dirty with salt and sand.

Then I use a normal ONR technique (wash an area then immediately dry with a WWMF) to wash the body of the car using these MF mitts Micro Fiber Mitts | Microfiber The pile is about 1/2" long and allows me to control the amount of solution and they release grime very nicely. Make sure to rinse the mitt well in the ONR solution each time you do a section. I also drag the mitt over the grit guard to be certain no sand is left in the fibers.

After the body of the car is done I use the remaining solution to wash the wheels and wheel wells.

Never found a need for the two bucket method and never had any marring. You can also see some "how to" videos at the Optimum website Optimum Forum (Powered by Invision Power Board)

I say wash often. Don't let dirt, grime and salt build up. I guess this depends on your driving conditions and daily milage.

In my case, I do not drive much (15 mile round trip to work on surface streets) and the car never gets really dirty. I find I can do an ONR wash in about 15 minutes, so I wash 3-4 times a week while is is only dust and light dirt.
