I've got some black floor mats that have red lettering that I just can't seem to get clean. Last time I tried I used some Folex with a scrub brush. It didn't do much. Can someone give me some tips.

jw- Noting that I'm no expert when it comes to this topic...what's not working out for you?

Are you letting the Folex (which I've never tried) dwell long enough?

The carpet isn't simply, uhm..."worn" is it, to the point that it's just never gonna look like new?

That came to my mind as well. We put so much effort into examining paint we forget that other surfaces and materials benefit from a thoughtful strategy, too.

Look closely at the fibers, I use the same magnifying lupe I use when I look at paint. This will tell you the state of color and also the quality of the fiber. The more worn and frayed they get the more they lose the color. Worth a look.

I use SOFT detail brushes to massage in the cleaner in specific areas in concern. I never use stiff nylon brushes that many companies sell as carpet brushes. They just tear up the fibers. Bad news.

It is possible the dye in the black portion of the mat is not color fast and has discolored the red to give it a dingy dirty look.
