Help with fixing another Detailers mess up on motorhome

Im telling you give acetone a try in a small spot thats not noticeable and see it strip the wax off. I deal primarily with boats and gelcoats and have seen and gone in and done a lot of correction work from previous detailers mishaps.

I wish you were around a couple of summers ago when I got thrown into detailing this:

It was 1992 big ass boat :rofl and needless to say the gel coat was garbage since it was never maintained properly. I ended up purchasing some stuff when proper auto care was still around and with a orange or yellow cutting pad on my rotary it took the oxidation right off.

Id say order a few pads from here, in yellow and orange,
Lake Country 4 Inch CCS Pads 6 Pack - You Pick!

Then try this with the yellow/orange pad
Prima Cut Paint Compound

Thats what I'd do, but I dont have much experience "cutting" with a DA style polisher. I use a rotary on pretty much everything and Im a strong supporter of rotaries :D needless to say! Are you located anywhere close to Omaha, Ne?

I have done several motor homes that looked like that. Do yourself a favor and try Meguiar's 66 quick detailer. It works very well and great outdoors. Polishing pad of your choice, follow with a sealant if you need more protection
Good luck

it appears the gel coat pores are still holding onto the dried wax. you need to get that wax back into a solution........ideas are to use another wax that has solvents and see if that work. Use a degreaser like power clean.

If you can't break down or put it back into a solution you will have to compound it or sand it down. I don't exactly know how much Gel you have to work with, but I'm confident its thicker than a clear coat. Do you have a way to measure? If you remove too much gel it will expose the syterne to UV and cause oxidation faster, UNLESS you keep up on maintenance.

Cheers,
GREG
