Help with deep scratch, ugh!

I swear I'm so pissed right now, and dont know who to be mad at. Seems to be a monthly thing that something on i95 (major highway in FL) is flying around is hits my car. A little pebble last month, and now a plastic container, what the ****...

Anyways I was thinking I was off the hook but then i see a relatively small scratch on my left pass door. Its not big, maybe 1/4 - 1/2" but its deep, like it cut thru the paint. Im worried it will grow and flake off and rust.

Im wondering if I can contain this from spreading or do anything besides the obvious of repainting the door. I know this may sound odd but since I can see where the paint is seperated from the metal, oculd I heat the paint ever so slightly to make it re-adhere to the metal? Im worried less about the scratch, which is small, and more that when I rub a towel over it, it will get progressive worse/larger. Please advise

Thanks guys

Also if anyone in south FL that is a detailer and can hook me up on this and some other minor scratches I would love you. :)

I would post this in the regional section...

Sorry to hear about you car.

I'm sure there is someone that can help you out.

wow, that's more like a slice then a scratch. BTW what kind of car is that . . . . . it's a very nice blue. Audi?

Couldn't you just take it some place and have it spot painted or apply some touch up and wet sand?

I'm not saying to do it, im just asking.

Unless I didnt notice it (unlikely) then it happened not long before my first post, so maybe 2 weeks ago. Im not sure how it was so deep, but pretty sure it was caused by debris while going 80mph on the highway. It rusted the inside pretty damn fast.

The scratch itself is small, if it wasnt rusting / looking like it would flake off, I wouldnt really care ya know.

The car is a "piece of ****" Dodge neon srt4 =P I mean, its the love of my life but its nothing too amazing. Electric Blue is what they call it. Has metallic flakes.

This is maybe a dumb question, but if I taped around it and sprayed that rustoleum rust converter stuff on it, would that be helpful? Then I could put some touch up paint on top of that

I plan to get Dodge to look at it next week. Im pretty sure they will want to paint the entire door and charge me several hundred bucks, and then it may stand out since it will be fresher paint. Ugh. I feel like the state of florida owes me this money for all the **** on the roads. 3 weeks prior a pebble hit my windshield. Not enough to crack it, but being the anal weirdo I am it bothers me.... ugh

Another dumb idea. So if the paint is lifting from the metal, is there anyway to 'reattach' it? My bonehead idea was this. (please hold the laughter for a moment)

Tape it off

Rust converter stuff

touch up paint

Heat gun lightly to 'readhere' the paint to the metal

Drink some beer

Something like that..
