Help: Will HD Cut work on plastic side mirrors?

I've been working on a 1999 Toyota 4Runner, removing serious scratches throughout the entire vehicle. I was leaving the side mirrors for last.

I want to know if HD Cut would work on correcting these side mirrors, as they are plastic. Not even sure if they are painted, or just cast-in-black plastic. Thoughts?

The more relevant question is are some of those too deep to be polished out? I feel like you could improve/remove a lot those, but I'd be surprised if you can get rid of them entirely. They look gnarly!

But yeah, you can polish painted plastic.

Thanks you two.

Yes, they are gnarly. Much like the rest of the 4Runner! It's an off-roader, daily driver that got seriously scratched ("pin stripes", in the world of off-road) on one outing.

I don't intend to remove them completely. Get rid of some, smooth it out a bit, and cover up the deeper stuff with glaze. It's what I did to the side panels, and it made a HUGE difference.

Just Jesus- Noting that it's easy for me to spend your money ;) ...when I got my Tahoe the sideview mirrors were about that bad, and in my case they were unpainted black plastic. I just replaced them and I've *NEVER* regretted it, really spruced up the overall look of the vehicle. If that were mine, I'd have those mirrors repainted and I'm 100% certain that I'd consider it money well-spent. But heh heh...hey, that's just me.

Thanks Accumulator. Replacing them is likely out of he question. The owner takes it off road quite a bit. He and I discussed this, and that's why we agreed on just making the paint look better. I removed alot of the smaller scratches, and brought back some shine to it. It was a Day/Night difference and he was very happy. Sure, it's still has the deeper scratches, but it looks a whole lot better now!

Funny thing: I worked on it some more yesterday, but was too beat to work on those mirrors. Next session I guess :)
