help! upholstery cleaner is leaving a big stain :(

I tried some upholstery cleaner in a can last night on some stains on the headliner (water stains, i think).



It dried overnight and now the stains on the headliner are HUGE. :shocked :scared :scared



What am I doing wrong?



Am I going to have to get a new headliner? :(
 
You used too much product I think.



The first time I tried to clean a spot on the headliner I used too much, and the spot dried and made a bigger water spot.



I ended up feathering out the water spot slowly.. and learned to use a lot less product. It came out fine afterward.
 
my headliner is grey. the original stains and leftover stains were darker grey.



I used turtle wax power-out (i think that's what it's called).



I'll try using less product and see what happens.
 
It may be product that is saturated in the fabric. I would just mist some water on the spot, rub it in LIGHTLY and vac it out. Try that two of three times and see if the stain will disapppear. It would be horrible to use the product again, make the stain worse and confirm it's the product doing it no matter how you use it.
