Well guys i have a question. After i washed my truck the other day i was giving it a good looking over to see what "joys" the winter time had left me. Anyway i saw a spot on the very top of my front fender where the paint looks kind of faded but only in certain types of light and from certain angles. This spot has been there for a while but i have not paid much attention to it till now and it is really bothering me. Any ideas on how to fix this? The paint is black with clearcoat. But when you look down on it from above you can see sort of a hazy dull white color. Polish? Clay? Any ideas will be useful. Thanks guys...

Can you post a picture? I sounds like the beginnings of clear coat failure and not a fading issue. Usually fading takes place all over and not in a specific spot.

Was the truck waxed before winter or has it usually been maintainted? How does the spot feel?

It was waxed before winter but i am doing my usual big spring complete detail next week. The spot feels smooth just like the rest of my paint.

Well depending on how bad it looks it could be a paint problem or it could be fading, although if it was waxed before winter it shouldn't be that noticably faded so soon.

You could try to polish it to correct the problem and if that doesn't seem to improve anything you might have a paint defect of some kind.
