HELP! Sapphire Black 07 BMW Z4MC

I just got my new baby, 07 Z4 M Coupe. Its Sapphire black. There are some swirls in the paint and 2 light scratches. I heard that BMW paint is very hard. So I went to work with my PC 7424XP. I used M105 with a Hex Logic Orange pad. It would not remove the scratch. It barely put a dent in the swirls :( The scratch cannot be felt with your finger nail either so I know it will buff out. I have a Hex Logic Yellow pad on the way. Any advice?

the only pads i have are hex logic. i have all the hex logic pads available. Im open to any suggestions on pads or polishes though

I do quite a few BMW's and I've found that the paint is pretty hard but notyhing I couldn't correct. I just finished a 07 335 twin, I think they call it charcoal metallic gray?? 3 stepper 105 hydro-tech and 106FA and then 85RD. For some reason 205 didn't finish down like usual? I normally finish 105 with 205. These hydro pads are probably the best pads I have ever used! I almost never use anything else! By the way I used Flex 3401. I won't tell you how many hours I had in it, I don't want to scare you!

hmm if the yellow pad doesnt work im getting those pads! can you give me a link to where i can find them? you should tell me how many hours it wont scare me :) ill spend an entire weekend doing it lol

Ok I warned you, 32 hours. With some wet sanding which added about 2 extra hours. Here is the link Buffer Pads Products - Detailed Image not sure if it's going to work let me know. I assume your using 105/205 as your componds? These are good products, so your fine there. Have you decided on your LSP?

Good LSP! If your going to buy these pads, buy the 6.5 cyan and tangerine there is a red finishing but George doesn't have them yet. Are you fimilar with the KBM. Proper priming and pressure are key. Lots of dusting with 105. Is this the first time correcting this car?

Yeah i have read up on the kevin brown method :) Na Ive corrected a couple of cars but i generally have done classics which have much softer paint than a new bmw. Is the cyan the heavy pad and tangerine the ligther one

just noticed the cyan is a light polishing pad. The orange pad I have been trying is a medium pad. The yellow one I ordered is a heavy pad.

Yes, the blue is the cutting pad and orange is a little less agressive. Start with orange and 205, if it does nothing which it sounds like it won't then go to blue and 205 and if still nothing 105 and blue. I would buy at least 2 each pads, trust me your going to like them! As for the scratch it should come out with this method if it's not that deep. Where is it on the car? You might need PFW for a better leveler then hydro pads?

The cell structure of these pads is way different than the pads you have. These pads work together. LC orange pads and hydro tangerine look the same but feel different, and cut totally different. Hydro's are more aggressive but when they follow each other they finish out killer! If that makes any sense???

On the roof, in the middle or on the edge? Middle is good usually decent amount of paint, edge thin paint! Do you know if it's factory paint or repaint? Do you have a thickness gauge?

oh ok yeah i get what you mean. Yeah the scratch is in the middle of the roof so I guess thats a good thing. Its original paint. I dont have a thickness guage
