Help Product is hard to remove...

Hey guys I was detailing my black miata and was having the following problems



Here is the process



1. Wash meg wash

2. Clay mothers clay bar

3. Scratch X

4. Meguiars #7 Mirror Glaze

5. Meguirs High tech yellow wax



Problem is the #7 was giving me trouble coming off but I think I got most of it. Then I put the wax on and that also kept staying on. I let it dry for sometime but still its doing the same thing. So due to this I cant get a deep shine.



I have done the same process on a m3 before and it worked amazingly well



Am I doing something wrong



also none of this was done in the sun
 
Well, I dont really like to put #7 on before anything. You might be getting a mixture of #7 and the Carnauba.....Is it just a real oily surface area that you cant wipe clean ?
 
yeah its really oily, I used a MF towel and it managed to get a lot of it off but it does not have the deep shine that I should get mainly because the product is still stuck on.
 
That #7 can be brutal--I don't know if this is the best solution, but if you have a chemical paint cleaner (Deep Crystal Cleaner, for instance), that should take it off. I would go over the whole car with that--it's got some oils in it like the #7 to help with the shine--well, I think it does.
 
Were you letting the #7 dry? It isn't supposed to. You're adding oils that go on wet and basically stay wet. It's not like a wax that has to "set up". Do small areas and remove it quickly.



#26 is usually very easy to remove. Did you put the wax on top of the #7 residue or on bare paint?



How thick did you put on the wax? #26 (and most any wax) should be put on very thin.

#7 can be tough so it's best applied/removed with a PC to get it very thin and work it in. I've only tried #26 once and was not happy with how it worked, it streaked and was not easy to remove. NXT is their best wax for easy off, just let it dry for about 15 minutes and it comes right off, assuming you also put that on pretty thin. Any wax applied too thick is going to be a mess getting off. Also what I found with #7 and I don't know if other people noticed this, but the NXT didn't last nearly as long if i put #7 on first as NXT alone. #7 did add considerable depth and would be great for a car show, just not sure it's worth doing for a daily driver.
 
I am a newb here....I want a polish that is deep and nice...long lasting is not that much of an issue.



What products should I switch to....reasonable price and easily available would help

SSR's or Optimum, easy to use, great results, affordable. Also megs #80 is a great product.

(Polishes really dont "last", unless your referring to working time, and if thats very important, Optimum has all of the above beat.

As for sealants, among my fav's would be Optimum Spray Wax, EX-P, and Four Star UPP. Im really dying to try Megs #21 though !

Is your work by hand or PC ?
