Help Picking Steam Cleaner...

I use this unit in my detailing biz and I am completely happy with it

Steam Cleaner - Steam Cleaners - Vapor Cleaner - Commercial Steam Cleaners

I believe rydawg may have purchased this unit also. A thread he started about this machine got me interested in it. Maybe he can chime in here also.

I found this unit to be a good balance between power and price. I have bought cheaper models in the past and have never been happy with them.

Looks like a great steamer, might be a little too much for me though.

Guys I will tell you that if you want to take advantage of the claims those steam companies make, you need heavier duty steamers. I thought I was going pretty big when I got the Daimer 300CS, wanting to avoid the cheapy varieties with low temps and psi... What I didn't consider or realize was boiler size and water tank size(assuming it's continuous fill). Since these things are relatively compact, they can't hold a lot of steam vapor ready to shoot, especially if you have it turned up on high psi. So therefore you end up steaming for either a very short time, or steaming at a far lower temp than max with far reduced effectiveness. I really liked the heat and power the 300CS had, and the daimer quality is great...but I was tired of blasting steam and then waiting for it to be ready again. Yes it will continue to shoot steam for a long time, but the temps drop quickly, and the time gets longer before the ready light lights up again signifying max temp. I sent it back and upgraded to the 1500CS - thanks in part to some good comparative info from Accumulator (thanks bud), and the difference is night and day. On paper it only looked like 10 degrees hotter and a few more psi than the 300, so I was confused...however the difference in real world use is huge...I can use it for sooo much longer with it staying hot, and the psi difference is huge in real world use, regardless of what it says, for car interiors for the most part low is more than enough...but when you start talking about doorjambs, other things around the house etc, medium really makes much quicker work of the jobs and still doesn't run out too fast....high is kinda like holding a fire hose and honestly hurts my ears (lol).. The unit also has a separate chemical injection tank with a button on the hose handle to inject whenever you like..haven't tried that yet. All I'll say though in to slightly repeat myself is that the more powerful units (even the 300 although slower) are capable of cleaning really nasty grout, engines, etc...it does work amazingly well...I just think there must be a temp threshold where steam really stops being as effective and most of the commonly available cheaper units singing benefits of steam technology just aren't getting above there.

I would recommend to anyone getting as much steamer as you can buy, you will truly be amazed and excited at how many places you'll find you can use this thing. You'll run out of either time or motivation before you run out of places you can clean in your house with it... I was able to remove 'black marks' on the white painted walls in my house from random suitcases brushing the wall or who knows what, that spray cleaners didn't touch and I figured were just going to eventually add up to a repaint in a few years as most folks do. The steamer really just melted them right off the paint..the paint did feel a little soft though, there's a window of time there where you should stop with that much heat ;) Good selling point to the wives though..hehe

Which one Bob? VaporSteamers, look into: Desidairo, TR5/6, VX5000. Get a QUALITY system, it helps amazingly for so many dirty applications. Interior/Wheels/Engine/Gaps.

They are up in the store now. I have 3 of them. They should be orderable by this weekend.
