Help: New paint and tree sap!

About two week ago the driver side door and passenger door were repaired and painted. Last Saturday, after parking the car near a tree, my car was covered with tiny specks of sap, almost crystal-like. Normally, I would clay bar it off and resort to a sap remover if necessary. And, I will do that for the part of my Passat that had not be repainted. But, what to do about the area that is newly painted? It would seem to me too fresh to clay bar? Should I try spraying with Stoner's bug/sap remover let it sit for a minute and rinse off (if that even works!) or what else? Any advice?? Please help....

Have you tried washing it? There are several "trees" that spray sap that just washes off if you catch it fast enough. Unless these are huge pine tree sap drops I would say that they would wash off. If they don't wash off then you could clay I would imagine. If the paint is cured enough to wash then claying won't do much. Clay is probably more gentle than sap remover anyway. My bet is that they will wash off.

What Jngrbrdman said :xyxthumbs . I just had some paintwork done on the Volvo (single stage). Got sap on it, which baked on in the sun. Wash removed most all of it, a gentle claying got the rest. No marring. Get some new-paint-friendly product on there, too. At least it'll offer SOME protection. Maybe good ole IHG.

I would normally put Klasse SG on the areas that weren't freshly painted...any advice on new-paint-friendly products would be appreciated. Am going to wash (and clay the not fresh painted surfaces) tomorrow.
