help needed for my hitachi...

hi to all the seniors,



i've been reading up alot regardin rotary machines here before i decide to get a hitachi SP-18VA locally (i stay in singapore). Today my backplate and LC pads from US just arrived.



To my horror, i found out tat the spindle screw cannot fit tthe bkplate... after checkin with my friend who bought the hitachi from the States, his spindle Diameter is different with the ones that's make in Malaysia.



Desperately seeking for advices who can i retify this prob... sad

Can you get a backing plate in Singapore? If they sell the hitachi there maybe they will have the backing plate that fits.
