Help-need Substitute Pad Cleaner

Newbie here. Bought the PC, pads, swirl remover, wax etc and used it all for the first time.



Went to clean up and found I bought nothing to clean the pads with. They are soaking in a bucket of water.



The local Pep Boys has nothing and could not find Dawn Power Disolver.



What do I do in a pinch until my mail order arrives?
 
Just rinse them thoroughly. Do a search on here, I'm sure you'll find something. I know some people put them in the washing machine.



While we're on the subject, the DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator is awesome stuff.
 
I used to soak them for 10-15 mins in Snappy Clean powder or Meg's car wash with warm/hot water, then just rinse out... Now I simply spray with APC+ diluted ~8:1 right after detailing, and most of them rinse out clean... just spray apc 2-3 times, let sit for a few mins, then rinse
 
Yea man if your in a pinch, regular old dawn works great. Put some on and start rinsing, should be clean in about 2 minutes.

I soak my pads in a bucket w/a gallon of water and a scoop of oxyclean. Then I clean them using dawn soap. For the really contaminated pads, I'll spray on some Dawn Power Dissolver and let it soak in for a couple minutes. DPD can be had at WalMart for a couple bucks.
 
i love this stuff (sometimes an ordinary bucket & soap don't work too well these days)! spray the DPD onto the pad, let it sit for around 15 minutes. then run it under some water and massage/rinse all the product out of the pad. works like a charm... :up
