Help! Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax screwed me!

Ok, so its not that big...but I have mudguards that USED to be a flat black color until i got a little bit of that Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax on them. Is there anything I can do to restore them to the original color? Polishing? sanding? anything?

Thanks

No! You screwed yourself! Do not slander a product like that with no justification. I myself use Megs products but in no way are affiliated with them. It just irks me when people do not think and come out with comments/headings like this that are damaging. blame yourself for getting the product on the wrong area. Does it say in the instructions not to use on rubber etc?

Screwed is a little harsh, but it happens to the best of us. When I rate a product for own use I look for shine, longevity, ease of use, and if you do make a mistake It should remove with ease. The money we pay for these products it should do all of the above.

You're taking the title of a thread a little too seriously. If anything, I said that to get people's attention to help me out. Furthermore, I didn't slander the product itself. I used it an I got screwed. Not saying Meg's NXT Tech wax is going to screw anyone.

Jeez, I should just let this damn thing die if i knew some of you guys were hardasses. I just wanted to say that the eraser thing worked.

Wrong! Your claim is false and a VERY misleading title! As stated you screwed yourself from sheer clumsiness. There is no fault with the product, the fault is with you. The title blames the product when it was the person applying it that was the problem.

In the future just ask for help instead of stretching the truth just to get attention. You got screwed from using the product? Next time read the label first there Hoss, it just ain't that tough. SHEESH!!!!!

With the serious nature this thread has taken … would this be considered the wrong time to ask if we should use jelly or marmalade with the left-over natural peanut butter? :think2

It was a bit too serious a title … slanderous even. Especially if a little use of the “Searchâ€ button could have gotten quick, easy answers. More people should try that feature, it’s awesome and would save a LOT of time, energy and resources for everyone here. :xyxthumbs

Back to the lighter side; What about the choice of bread? Whole wheat, Wonder, or a lightly toasted Arnold Brick Oven Firm White?

I was thinking of using my "white wheat" bread. It looks white but has all the nutrition of wheat bread.

Thanks for lightening the mood. I think its safe to let it die now.

I woke up this morning knowing that an eraser couldn't possibly do anything to fix the mistakes I made in my wax job. I figured trying it wouldn't hurt. It would be comical, even.

It worked. I still don't get it, but it worked.

glad it worked out for you! I've used various trim dressings that will hide my screw ups for a while but never really fix it. I can't remember where I learned the pink eraser trick. Probably here. And I didn't believe it would work either LOL :)

I got out some Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer, put it onto a clean terrycloth towel, and wiped it down. The wax came RIGHT up.

There may be other things that other people use that work as well, but I found this worked for me. :) No need to mess with peanut butter, erasers, etc. :)

I'm not saying that didn't happen just as you say it did, but just be careful you are not fooling yourself and didn't just "hydrate" the wax residue with the dressing and make it transparent. I've used that trick (which is recommended by Meguiar's for this problem) and found that it's really a mask and not a remover, and that the stains will come back when the dressing wears off.

As far as the rest of you with your slander comments, you might want to change to decaf, or, as I do, the half-decaf. The OP had a problem, a real problem that people encounter even if they do read the instructions, that he got it on the trim by accident. I'm sure he felt "screwed", and shucks, give the guy some literary license. If we outlawed hyperbole on this forum there wouldn't be much to read.

lol...i didn't have any pink erasers, so i used a white eraser. also a green one, just to make sure it would all do the same thing. they both worked.
