Help me pick a daily driver..

Ok, I'm totally confused on what I want...one minute I want an SUV, one minute a wagon, one minute a coupe..I first started out looking for just a little 4 cylinder family sedan but I want something sporty with some minor luxury features. What I have been looking into is the Saab 9-3/9-2x, Acura RSX, Subaru Forestor XT, VW Jetta/GTi, Scion tC..I would like something with a little pep and some nice features...so far the Forestor XT fits the bill perfectly, has awd for snow, turbo, can come in leather, heated seats and has a decent amount of room in it. I'm trying to keep the price under 18k whether it is new or used. Any ideas, suggestions, cars I should also consider?

CHeck out the reports for reliability and features you want. When I did that, I traded in a Range Rover and had it narrowed down to an Acura TL, Audi A4, and Volvo S40...When it was all said and done, I went with the Volvo and will probably never buy any other kind of vehicle...I love it. It has the sporty look and ride, with all the luxury features. But that is me. Look for the features that fit what you are looking.

A car that I just ordered would be a good one to consider. I like the new VW rabbit for the 08 model year the bump up the HP 20 and will have some pep. I ordered mine with all the options for the 2 door and it only came to 18,600. Has lots of standard features.

I would steer clear of Volvo. My dad had an S60R and we really werent happy with it. Honestly your money is better spent somewhere else.

You are kidding me right? Because your dad was not happy, people should not buy Volvos? Heck, I had a BMW that had some problems, so everyone should steer clear of Bimmers. Of course not..Everyone has their own experience in cars. heck, I hated my Range Rover, yet most love them...That is why I told him to find a car with the right features, and he will be happy rather than others telling him what car they have and why it is the best.

Until you make your mind up and have some direction no amount of advice will help you. With an $18K top your new car choices are severely limited. Once you figure out what you actually need then begin the quest be it a new Kia or a used Subaru.

If you go the VW GTI/Jetta route - check out VWvortex.com - HUGE VW forum, but it should help you out.

I've actually been on that site a few times, my buddy JunkTI turned me onto that site.

lol, honestly I'm not a big fan of them. I've always felt they're kinda over rated.

Hey, I know it doesn't have a reputation for being a very fast/sporty car, but my I LOVE my Corolla LE (luxury edition) and it is great! 40 mpg, power EVERYTHING, 6 disc premium sound, rock-solid reliabitilty. All for around $17,500. The car only has a 130hp 4 cylinder, but the car weighs less than a mini-cooper so it has plenty of pep! Just something you might want to take a look at.
