Doh! :o

JT International. Tom Gong owns it. I got the majority of my cloths from him. He sells his towels on eBay. You can pics of his towels by typing in Microfiber Towels in the eBay search engine. You can email him directly at [email protected] for a price quote. Good guy.

Can't speak about Poorboys, as I have not used them. The towels I have are from Neatitems (www.neatitems.com), Pakshak for WW's (www.pakshak.com) and JT. I also recently got a couple of Meguiar's Ultimate Wipes to try too. The JT and Neat Items towels are pretty identical, but the JT towels were half the price.

The best way to get into MF's is to try to get several of you together and do a group buy to save on shipping. Many of them will give you volume discounts also.

This is what I do on my silver 350Z. I hate long arduous steps so I try to condense a few steps into one if possible.

Wash with Z7 or Dawn. I used Z7 but you might want to use Dawn the first time due to the dealer prep. Don't dry the car yet. NB must be done in shade to prevent waterspotting from drying.

Clay with the Z7 solution. The clay would take off any residual wax from the dealer prep and you're going to Dawn wash later anyway. Final rinse and dry. If you decide to dry the car and use QD as the clay lube, I wouldn't wash again but just polish afterwards.

Polish with your choice of #9 or whatever. I used S100 SEC.

Dawn wash the oils off from the polish. I mixed in a little Z7 in the car wash also to hopefully prevent any supposed "Dawn film" instead of washing again with Z7 after Dawn. Others here have had success just using Z7 after polishes but I tried this and had a total disaster with Zaino bonding properly. I had to re-wash with Dawn to get all the oils off before re-applying Z.

Layer Z5 with Z6 between layers until happy.

Z2.

I use MF towels for removal of residue and WW MFs to dry after washing.

Thanks Gary and Ice.

Can't find JT on ebay so will email him.

Darn this detailing stuff is gonna kill me LOL

Right, WW for drying. After I discovered them, I never use anything else. Fast, soft and streak free.

I don't know if the BB is worth it, as I have never tried it. I use Pakshak's. They are great. Although, it's small than the BB, so you might need two for your massive truck.

Many people like JT's also. I got one JT one, and the Pakshaks were more absorbent, softer and larger, so I relegated the JT one to when I use QEW.

The Autopia has some nice one's too. Everyone seems to like those also. So, I don't think you can go wrong with anyone of those. I think it's kind of down to personal preference/budget. In price, I think JT's are the cheapest by a hair. By Ranney's are a close second (when you ask for the Autopia discount, not the price on his website). BB is the most expensive.

For drying my SC430, I use a CWB and a Pakshak WW towel. The CWB whips with water right off FAST and the WW just picks up remaining water.

Pakshak for MF towels. Final wipe/QD towels: Autopia "CBT" towel or DFTowels.

Remember, prep is the key with Zaino. Zaino is NOT really a polish, but just a sealant protectant.

Other products may contain petroleum "cleaners" in them, so be careful of this. They will remove any wax or sealant that you previously applied. Try to stay with one product at a time so you get the best results. Mixing some can have a bad effect.

Megs #9 SMR then Megs #7 is a good combo by hand. If swirls a a bit more, try the Megs Medallion Paint Cleaner, no real abrasives, but a chemical cleaner. Works well by hand.

If you have access to a PC, then 3M PIII-MG if swirls are few. Then follow with Megs #3 MG or stay with #7 for a real glaze. If swirls are heavy or many, use Megs DACP, then glaze with #7.

Which ever way, it's all in spending the time needed to get the finish as mirror looking as possible. Remember that waxes and sealants just "protect" what you did, so if it's not that clean or not mirror looking to begin with, the wax/sealant won't do squat except add some oils (if wax) that sit on the finish and if sealant, just covers what's there with no real added benefit except that the finish will not improve with washing as all the "stuff" is under the sealant.

Enjoy the Zaino! See my SC430 in my sig and in the member gallery. Good example of Zaino on a good finish, however, I still have some swirls that need to be removed, but never had enough time.

Regards,

Deanski
