I need some serious help! I am incredibly pissed off at the moment so please forgive me if this post comes out wrong.

My fiance and I were out at the bars this evening and I was D.D. We were driving my 2003 Cobra because her car had a bunch of her stuff from work in it... Well, long story short, she was quite drunk and we were driving home. I asked her repeatedly if she needed me to pull over. Well, she more or less passed out and I thought we'd be fine. About 7/8 of the way home, she wakes up and says, "Pull over, I'm going to puke."

There was NO way for me to get over in time. Without getting to graphic, let's just say that the entire passenger side is completely messed up.   :angry :angry :angry

I am so freaking pissed at her it's incredible...

Anyways, back to the point... I need to know how to clean this crap up. I used paper towels everywhere that I could see or feel even the slightest hint of moisture or "debris". As far as I can tell, there's no residual left over, except for the stains that seem to be on the vinyl/rubber in the door and the alcantra suede inserts on the leather seats.

PLEASE HELP ME!! What can I do to get the stains and smell out of my passenger side seats, door, floor, dash, etc?! I have leather seats with alcantra suede inserts and rubber/vinyl/plastic dashboards and doors.

I am going to take the car to a local detailing shop that does carpet and fabric shampooing/steam cleaning here in the area to get their take on the situation, but I need some help....

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I'm so incredibly pissed right now... :angry  :angry

My Lightning has the same material on the seats.Ive used several different cleaners on mine over the last 2 years.Ive found that any cleaner you would use on cloth interior works the same on Alcantara.I scrub EF Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner or 303 or most any good cleaner into the nap with a stiff brush and dry with a terry towel.Let dry then smooth the nap in the same direction when youre done. This stuff is tougher than most people think it is.Sliding across the seat as you get in and out makes the nap flat, causing the material to look dirty.Brushing the nap back up helps.

As for the vinyl APC diluted properly will clean that very well. A leather cleaner and a leather brush will clean up the leather.

The smell is a tough one (nasty too). Get as much out of the carpet as possible. If you have a wet/dry vac laying around trying spraying a carpet cleaner (I have no idea what you have as for products) and then brush the carpets, rinse the carpets (Do not over soak) and use the wet dry vac to extract out as much of the "wet stuff" out of the carpet as possible.

If you dont have any carpet cleaners laying around woolite mix will help as will oxyclean mix. Be sure to rinse very well and extract as best as possible.

Be sure to get your car into the detail shop as soon as possible.

Hope this helps a little bit until you get to a shop.

My friend did the same exact thing to me a while back and I dump a box of Arm and Hammer all over the interior that he puked. It took care of the smell and absorbed any wet stuff I couldn't see. I let that "soak" for a couple days because I was working two jobs at that time and wouldn't get to actually clean the interior until that weekend. Good luck man. I have never had any problems with smell when I did that. If you do a search under my username you can find a thread that I started about it.

You might try visiting the local pet superstore if nothing else works. They carry a variety of carpet cleaning products designed specifically to get rid of pet urinie and vomit stains and odors.

I've used one called Petzyme that works pretty well.

Good luck man!

Everyone...

Thank you all very much for your responses... I really do appreciate the well thought out solutions that you've given. That is really one of the things that makes this site so perfect.

I'm going to give the car over to the local detail shop for a serious carpet shampooing and interior stain/smell removal within the hour. My fiance said she would pay for it (I didn't ask) and as of right this minute, the residual stuff that may still be in my car has only been there for approximately 6 hours. And I took 2 rolls of paper towels to it VERY well. So there shouldn't be too much left and what there is should be minimal. I'll have them shampoo the carpets and such and do a serious interior detail. I'm not sure if I want a detailing shop to pull the passenger seat out of my car, but maybe they have that capability.

Off to the detail shop. I'll clean up anything I'm not satisfied with later in the day.

Thanks again everyone :xyxthumbs

Hey atleast the car, and you guys are ok. Maybe next time you should think about drinking and driving.

Whoa whoa whoa.... I was the D.D. I stated that in the first post.

I do NOT drink and drive. Never have, never will. It's just not worth it.

Yeah. He would be much mellower if he were drunk too.

(j/k)...he said he was the DD...sounds like he was thinking ahead of time and doing exactly what is recommended.

Puking is a definite indication of a good time. Its best to leave the SVT at home when having fun. Im sure youre pissed, but just let it go. It can be fixed and its just a car. Her party days will be over soon enough and you will be cleaning up kid puke in the family truckster instead.

Now for the girl. Get her some coffee and breakfast when she wakes up. That is the best hangover remedy. Keep your mouth shut. The worst thing you can do is run your mouth, when shes already embarrassed. Women like to think you love them more than your Cobra. Its best to let them think that.

:up Agreed.

So I got the car back just now. The interior looks and smells great. They overdid the dressing a bit (typical) but I fixed that with a MF wipedown.

The only thing I'm concerned about is how wet the alcantra inserts in the seats are. The carpets are still a little wet too.

The detailer said that it will dry and that it's normal, but to me it just seems odd.

Should I take an MF to it to dry it, or just let it dry naturally??

Sorry to hear...

Take the seats out and follow the carpet regimen in my sig. The Oxy/APC will clean and pull all of the protein odors right out. I did it today on a heavy smokers car and it smelled "Fresh" when done.

Good Luck.

I am sorry, but I laughed at the visual I got. I have been there; just be happy it didn't get in the vents.....:xyxthumbs

Well, as one of those kind of guys that just has to research everything to death, I did a search on "oxygen bleach." To make a long story short, as I went from chemical to chemical I discovered the active ingredient in oxy-clean and all the others is Sodium Percarbonate. Then I found out that SP was just a powdered form of Hydrogen Peroxide. Which is also an oxygen bleach. That led me to Fantastik Oxy Power which is..... hydrogen peroxide. But with a better smell. It is for this reason I'm suggesting using Fantastik Oxy Power. I found a 32 oz bottle at Home Depot for $2.97.

Steve: Wow...Did not know that.

I am probably phasing out of Oxy as I found something better today :) ...I will post more once I play around.

In 04Cobra's defense, I read your initial post and when you said you were D.D. I too thought that to mean DRUNK DRIVING. I've heard the acronyms DUI and DD to be used interchangeably depending upon your locale. Glad to hear you're smarter than that.

APC's will do a decent job at removing some stains but for complete removal of tough stains you need to use dedicated chemicals designed for specific types of stains. For vomit you should use an enzyme spotter followed by a tannin stain remover.

Lol! Whoops!! I've never heard the use of that acronym before.

If that was what he thought, then I apologize. In my first post, I meant D.D. to be Designated Driver.

I apologize for the mis-understanding and no hard feelings :xyxthumbs

So as a bit of an update, I can't really smell much of anything in the car other than the shampoo that they used on the carpets and the alcantra. So should I use a MF and dab-dry the alcantra and carpets a little because they are wet still?

Also, is the enzymatic cleaner absolutely needed? I'm pretty sure they did a good job of it, but will the smell or stain come back even though they "professionally shampooed" the carpets and alcantra inserts??

Thanks again in advance fellas :-D

Don asslet cleaning supplys is where I go to get rid of puke smell. I had a lady who had a old jeep and that thing was the mustiest. moldiest, dankiest smelling car ever, but she loved it and wanted to drive it forever. I ordered an enzyme treatment, and XO plus and took out the front seats and saturated the rug and seats with the enzyme the first day. It was pretty much gone, but for extra messure I saturated the entire car with OX plus two days later. I put the seats back it, and six months later there still is no hint of the musty, dusty, danky, stank that plagued her for years. I also used XO plus on a chair that a friend, I mean x-friend puked on, and it doesn't smell either. I also use it when kitty pukes whcih is every summer, (fur balls), and it cleans and deodorizes. I buy this stuff buy the gallon, it's even pleasant for the bathroom, and it's all organic and NON STAINING. Needless to say your first step should have been to steam clean it then do this if the smell comes back.

Order an enzyme treatment and X-O Plus Odor Neutralizer, it's on sale now. Here's what they say about this product on puke: "Ever wonder how they get rid of the odor when someone throws up on an airplane? It's X-O! X-O is one of the only products on the market that kills odors without any secondary flash odors."
