HELP compound on Harley's engine-black

I detailed my first harley some weeks back, the customer told me there is some compound (optimum metal polish) on the textrued flat black fins of the engine's cylinders. I scrubbed with alcohol and a tooth brush, but it wouldn't budge. :help:

I'll tell you what H-D told a dealer to use when they stained a brand new hot engine with full strength TAW and nothing they tried would remove the staining... Scrubbing Bubbles... the bathroom foam... and a stiff brush. Worked great. That was a silver engine, sometimes the wrinkle black can be more challenging. Since hearing that I've been using SBs on my wrinkle black cases and it takes everything off, and I've inadvertently splattered it with M105 (don't ask!). S100 Engine Brightener available at H-D dealers among other places will renew the black finish after a serious cleaning and lasts a good while.

If that does work or you wish to try something else, a bit less costly (remeber HD stands for hundred dollar, no matter what you buy that says HD on it), here is something may work.

Lighter fluid, it's actually naptha, wet the area (cool not hot) and work with the stiff brush, detail or tooth and then rinse with the naptha, wipe.

It should remove it with no damage to the surface.
