Well let me be the first to say Hello and Welcome to Detail City.

Cannot help on the wet sanding. Have not been brave enough to enter into that realm yet.

Welcome to the group:howdy

I have only wet sanded a few times so I am no expert and there are people on here who are so they can properly answer. But I usually start like polishing with the least abrasive and see how that works. Constantly keep the surface area wet and wrap the paper around a flexible sanding block not your fingers.

follow up with some buffing. Again this is more of just an overview but there are people on here who can give you the exact steps.

Welcome to DC.

Wet-sanding is really something that you need to be shown how to do in person. There are too many ways to mess up and ruin the finish.

Where are you located? Maybe someone here can help you out.

Welcome to the site from Sonoma County CA

The orange peel that you have I'm guessing is under the clear and wet sanding will not take that out....wet sanding for the most part is for removing light surface scratches and the likes of that...all said if your car is not clear coated then wet sanding for OP will work...but as suggested its not some thing that I would start to learn on that nice car you drive

Welcome to DC :howdy

Wet sanding is not hard, but as Troy said proper instruction in person and a rotary are the best way to go.

If you are talking about the factory paint job, don't even bother trying to remove the orange peel, you may take off more than you bargain for:notme:

Your best bet. Go to a collision shop, junkyard, autobodyshop etc get white black red etc hood, fender, trunk and practice practice and practice. Soon you'll be giving the advice. You come to the right place.

Hi f1swede,
Welcome to DC :howdy

I agree with Poorboy, if the OP is below the CC then you might be in for more than you expected. There are many knowledgeable people here, maybe if you were to list where you are from there might be somebody near by or possibly if you started a new thread with some pics, there might be some more comments.

Good luck

Holy cow! you guys are really something as far as getting back to a person,Thank you so much for making a guy feel very welcome.I been buffing for a lot of years (foam pad) so the buffing part is no problem, burnt one fender a little but enough for a repaint. The problem i have right side doors and rear fender been painted thats were the orange peel is very notacible compared to the rest of the car.I suppose i could start low under the moldings and see how it turns out.I been using 3M coumpound for many years but open to anything better.Like i said never wet sanded before and have a lot of respect doing it,could be very costly.Anyway thanks for getting back to me.I live in minnesota so it would not happen for a while,to cold.....F1swede:thanks
