Hello Tampa

you guys doing anything this weekend? besides the Tampa auto show :)

Does anyone have an old PC7424 for sale? Brain says "you REALLY need to polish your car" :waxing:

I'll be at work all day Saturday, and on Sunday i got a MB S600 to do, wish i had the time. Also check out the pawn shop's if your looking for a use one and also on ebay and this forum.........Angelo

Hi Everyone, I'm new here and this is my 1st post. I live in the Apollo Beach area of Tampa.

Is there a place in Tampa to get a PC or other top of the line orbitar buffer and supplies?

I have a 2006 Porsche Carrera and BMW X5, both black, that need work. The Porsche is not really bad at all becausr I stay on top of it and wash it myself. My wife has run the X5 through some car washes...yikes....I know...but it's a lease and going back in 2 months. So I figure the X5 will be perfect to try out some products and a orbital buffer on.

one option is Classic Motoring Accesories (properautocare.com) in Tampa you get a walk-in discount if you ask :)

I know there are more options that the other guys can chime in on...

Thanks, I am trying to decide on either the Porter Cable or Ultimate Detailing machine.

Why? What is your opinion between the 2?

Thanks! Mike

The UDM is more powerful and has less vibration that the standard PC. The price difference far outweighs the benefits.

Now I am looking at the Flex buffer. I have a habit of doing to much research and things get expensive! I just do my own cars and never let them get out of hand. I just need to remove some light washing swirls and apply wax.

Maybe the PC or UDM will be good enough for a guy like me?

If you're going for a d.a., absolutely choose the udm, much faster results, much stronger, although I wouldn't say much better results, just in a slightly quicker time. Also less vibration.

Hey mdrums, VaSuperShine is close by you. Maybe he can get it done for you then you can maintain it from there on. I would for the money go with the UDM. Shop around for it ....Autopia, AG, and Danase has it i think on sale right now.........:usa

Maybe VaSuperShine can give me a lesson. I know a little and back in the late 80's had a Vette I use to show in SoCal Vette shows...I won too! Things have changed a lot since those times and my Black and Decker random orbital! I have a great clean garage to work from at my house but my wife loves black autos and the Porsche needs some correction from toweling marks and some track days. The X5 BMW needs more help and will be my pratice vehicle...it's leased and the dealer will mess it up more than I ever would.
