What should I ask them to and not to do on my car?

Like should I tell them to only hand wash? you know....such minor questions, which may not, in reality be that minor.

I'm getting only the exterior detailed, which involves polishing and waxing so that they can remove swirls off my car's body.

Thanks.

Very tough call here. Have you inspected their work? Have you talked to them about what products they use? How do they plan on removing the swirls?

The list can go on.

For the most part you want to ensure they remove the swirls not just fill them in. You may be curious as to what products they will use.

Look at the work they do.... try to find a car they did a month ago IF you can.

The products we use are probaly not the same they use, they buy in bulk. I used to have my car detailed from shops, the look didn't last long and I was always wishing they put a little more effort into it.

Hello, used to work in a detail shop in the late 90's mostly do my own vehicles now. Hope to learn from this forums members on the new products and methods, thank you.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, even though its cold and 10 inches of snow outside. David it was a place called diamond brite auto detailing in Lincoln park. David on another forum you talked about that inside car wash on plymouth road, went there a couple times it was a pretty nice place to wash your car in the winter.

Small world!! Diamond(which was also a body shop too right) & us (Poly Pro Detail Center later called Fermani's) used to do Villiage Ford's car when they use to sent them out to 2-3 differrent shops. Those were the days for sure. And yes, my partner owned the car wash (Poly Pro Auto Wash). The best place to wash a car. I grew up in Redford/Dearborn. Actually considering moving back soon.....X_X
