NOTE: Sorry for large pics, thought they would auto-size in the forum.. haha.

Hey, name's Michael. 17 years old from Phoenix, Arizona. I drive a Black 2008 Silverado Extended Cab 4.8L V8 2WD. I'm a noob to car detailing. I've done one hand wash, clay, wax since I've purchased the truck in October of 2008. I know that I need to add a polish step. It's also pretty hard to wash/clay/polish/wax since its so hot and sunny here in Phoenix, any ideas to help with shade? Like a pop up tent or something? Anyways, here are some pictures from my first exterior attempt at a "detail." Now, the truck is fully debadged except for the bowtie on the back, which I am planning to black out sometime in the future. I look forward to learning as much as I can so that my truck's exterior lasts as long as I have it (which will hopefully be forever!) PS: I know I don't take that great of detail pics.. haha.

Thanks for a great forum!

Now for pics!

Any suggestions of improved products would be nice too! Thanks for looking!

Howdy. Welcome.

There are plenty of products that will work in the sun. But I will caution you that if teh paint is too hot to touch, it's too hot to detail Look at the Poorboys world stuff. Available from our sponsors. Poorboys world, Detail City, and AutoGeek. Alll great to do business with.

2 things to be aware of.

1. You are guilty of something I do. Which is you didn't clean and dress your wheel wells. People here will get on you about that once you have been around for a while. Look at my posts, you will see they get on me. :)

2. GET SOME GOOD MICROFIBER Use the stuff you have for wheels and engine. Black is tough enough you don't need to add to the marring by using bad micro.

Again welcome and enjoy the wealth of information here. Lots of good people, lots of good advice, lots of fun.

Welcome to the City Mike! :dcrules

Truck looks good... especially in the big pics:notme:

Hey, I would recommend getting a 10x10 or 10x20 easy up tent to get out of the sun. I have a 10x20 and I  it bro.
