Hey everyone, long time lurker here...figured I would finally take the plunge and register. I have seen many before and after threads on other forums (8thcivic.com) but I feel like autopia better suits my needs.
1. How did you wind up at Autopia?
8thCivic.com - 8th Generation Civics
2. What do you like most about detailing?
Showing my car / the car that I detailed off after I'm done.
3. What are your favorite products/processes and why?
I like to start fresh sometimes, stripping all the wax with dawn (I don't know if this is correct) then using a megs claybar to make sure that the paint is clean and building up the gloss on the paint. I am a fan of the NXT 2.0 tech wax as well as most zaino products.
4. What's your dream car and why?
Recently I have become infatuated with the Nismo 370z in white. I have no where near the amount of money needed for a new GT-R, and the new lines of the Z have some relation to those on the GT-R.
5. What's the best thing you learned on Autopia?
That M-105 and M-205 work wonders.
6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests?
I like driving, both cars and motorcycles. I have my car (FG2) and a KTM Duke 250, looking forward to eventually stepping up to the street bike level, but not anytime soon.
7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics.
I have a 9 y.o. mutt named Blake.
8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.
9. Where are you from and where do you live now?
New Jersey....New Jersey..
10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect?
The first car I paid for was my civic. My father raised me with weekend lessons of driveway detailing.
11. What motivates you to detail?
OCD.
12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car?
Yes and No. I would pay a pro to detail my car and teach me certain methods to perfection, but never give my car up to someone and not know how or what they did to make it perfect.
13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?
My dad hand wax's his cars on the weekends.
14. What is your favorite part about detailing?
The finished product of course!
15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?
I always considered detailing as a career path but as of right now I have no where near the amount of knowledge or qualifications needed to start a business.
