How much longer do I have to wait for Zaino to dry?? I put on a coat of Z-1 followed by Z-5. Has been 3 hours and still doesn't really seem to be dry I used less than an ounce of each, so I didn't overapply. My truck is in a heated shop (68-70 degrees) and outside it is about 29 degrees with 75% humididty, it is probably a little less humid in the shop but not a lot?? Any ideas on how much longer I am going to have to wait??

I would think it should be dry by now. Believe it or not you may have applied it too heavy. When I used (one and a half ounces Z5 mixed with ZFX) I was able to do 3 coats on a large size vehicle and still had plenty left over that I could have easily done a 4th coat if not more.

The ZFX solves any drying problems: To test this I used up the remaining mixture and applied it very heavy on a few panels. It took more effort to remove but was completely dry.

I have found that air flow helps with drying. It seems to dry faster on breezy or windy days even when there is high humidity.

Morning Guys!

Surfing led me here and low and behold I recognize many names here!

Painting, custom painting, and body work in the 70's led me into a detailing obsession that's never stopped. I've never been afraid of trying something new that might be just a bit better than what I'm using, that's why I have so many products to choose from!!

Machines:

Makita 9227
Flex 3401
Porter Cable 7424

Compounds, Polishes, Glazes, Sealants, Wax, and other related "stuff" I have on hand.

Pinnacle
DP
Wolfgang
Menzerna
Poorboy's
Collinite
Meguiar's
Diamondite
303
1Z Einszett
Klasse
Griot's
P21s
Lake Country
Cobra
PakShak
Stoners

It keeps me off the streets and my cars shinny!! :Dancing Dot:

Welcome BobbyG. Looks like you got everything covered with your inventory! I'm gonna guess Blackfire makes your list pretty soon (especially if you like to try better products).

What part of MA? I'm originally from Randolph.

Hey, Bobby! Anyone who has 3 polishers must be a detailing fanatic. (Like me.) Welcome to TID!!!

You know Bill, I love and use all three. I've been using the Porter Cable primaerly for applying glazes, sealants, and waxes but today I swapped pads for 5 1/2 inch and tried out Optimums Hyper Polish Spray. I clayed the hood and then went over it with a white pad then changed to a gray pad. I was really surprised / impressed with how it performed and changing pads is how it works..

Welcome to Truth in Detailing BobbyG, lots of great folks here that you know and please be free to post.:wizard:
