Hey all. I've been a lurker on here for many years but now figured it would be a good time to introduce myself. I just bought a Cadillac CTS and decided to get back into keeping a car nice. (especially since my wife drives it, it's going to need some TLC very often). At this point, I've been focused solely on the interior as it's winter here and nothing is really going to get done to the outside till spring comes.
I've been researching a bunch of things on here from techniques to products. A couple areas I need help in, are my leather seats and cleaning speaker grills.
My car is a 2008 with only 26,000 miles on it. The leather seems to be in good shape overall, just feels dry to me. What I can't figure out is, is this leather or some type of finished leather, or just vinyl that looks like leather? Can someone tell me that. Then, what do you recommend to soften it up and make sure it lasts without cracking? I've read good things on leatherique, but being in Buffalo in the winter, I don't think I can use it now.
Secondly, what do you guys use to get dirt out of the speaker grill holes? I have a Mytee Firebird, would that do the trick?
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
