Hello everyone,

I've ordered some Zaino stuff for a black Passat. Didn't order the Z7 car wash since I've been using an Eiman Fabrik shampoo that works fine.

As I've been reading about Zaino stuff, I see you guys mentioning that the Z7 is really good. Is there something special about it that is different from the normal pH neutral car shampoos? What does it do that a regular old car shampoo doesn't do? Do you use it INSTEAD of a car shampoo or in addition to?

Thanks for your help.

Paul

Z7 is the ONLY car wash I use. It suds up really well and makes washing a breeze. Plus, Z7 has small amounts of polish in it to boost shine while washing. It's just a good car wash and works very well with the Zaino system.

Smells good to!

:D

The Z-7 wash contains zaino polymers in it the same way Z-6 does. Furthermore, it ranks pretty high among many Autopian's lists of favorite shampoos. But best of all is the way the stuff smells! :D

As is normal, Intermezzo330I knows what he is talking about. The Z7 is a great wash. But, it also does some special things, like replenishing the Z.

Nothing is wrong with using a high quality, neutral car shampoo. If you are using Z, however, I would recommend the Z7.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that z7 is far and away the BEST car wash I have tried (I have tried at least 10 different ones). I used to like Gold Class but not after trying z7.

What amazes me is not how well z7 works on zaino'd cars but how well it works on non-zaino'd cars. My beater wagon received a coat of NuFinish polish (after a dawn wash) a couple months ago. Last weekend I decided to give it a wash with z7. Simply amazing...it sparkled MUCH more than after applying the NuFinish even!

It is the best Zaino product IMO and z6 is a second. Cant wait to place my order this spring!!

I really like to mess around with different car shampoo's. Would this Zanio soap have any good/bad effect on my Klasse? You guys speak of all this "mini enhancment" stuff in the soap that brings out the Zanio shine... I wonder if it is just in the shampoo, not the Zanio thats on the car.

What the heck makes one soap so much better from the other, if all soap does not strip the wax and suds up really well, what the heck is the big deal? Hate to ruin the fun but am I missing something?

Well, if there are minute amounts of the z2 in the z7 (which there supposedly is), I can see why this car wash gives more shine (at least initially) than another. Maybe the z7 is leaving a light z2ish residue until the next wash? I dunno.

Try it out..you will be pleasantly suprised.

Oh crap, I thought Zanio was one of those stuck up places where you could view thier products on thier site but you have to find a "dealer". I've been there before, guess I didn't pay much attention to them, they are good but they arn't Klasse good. DOH, I said that outloud. ;)

Which post's did you see?

The one about the porsche? Thats why I carry two knives and two socket wrench's in my car.... for all those visual learners.

The ONLY thing holding me from using Zanio is the application wait time. I need to wait 24 hours to apply another coat and without a garage, it just is not possible.

I have heard of this new "ZFX" stuff and it seems really nice. Cuts the wait time down to ......... nothing :-). Even better than my 30 minute wait for the Klasse Glaze. All of this Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4 stuff really has me confused. I am not totally biased against Zanio, I really would like to try it.

If it is possible, do you know of a site where I can EASILY understand the Zanio steps and what I should do after I set everything? Seems like Zanio may be pretty nice.

Klasse deepens the red of my car, it honestly does, makes it more of a dark warm red, when I put the time into it, it comes out very very nice. If you think Zanio can out shine Klasse, just give me a little more info on the Zanio steps and consider me willing to spend money to test it out.

They both shine great. It all comes down to preference. If you like the deepening effect that KLASSE gives (the tint) that makes your car look REDDER, then I would stick with it. However, if you are going to get a custom paint job on your car and want the TRUE paint color to show through, I use zaino on it.

As for layering coats on. I have an outdoor driver and until ZFX was around I would wait the 24 hours between coats. You don't have to keep your car in the garage, it can be driven and washed, left in the rain, etc, etc, while it is curing. The important thing is to make sure it is clean before layering on another coat of Zaino. If I didn't drive the car, I would usually just Quick detail it (Z6 it) the next day and apply more zaino, or if I waited a week till the next weekend just wash the car, Z6, and layer zaino on.

Zaino really is an easy process. With the ZFX it's a one step system and even easier. ZFX is used with either Z2 or Z5. Z5 is similar to Z2 but is a thicker formulation and fills in swirls better with each coat. Z2 has higher optics, but it's hard to tell the difference and some people frankly prefer the Z5 shine! The only other Z's you should worry about are the car wash (Z7) and the quick detailer (Z6). It doesn't get much easier than that!
